We had the pleasure of interviewing HAUSER of 2CELLOS over Zoom video!
International superstar cellist HAUSER debuts “Theme for Ennio,” a touching tribute to his dear friend and renowned Italian composer Ennio Morricone, performed with and composed by Ennio’s son, acclaimed composer, conductor and pianist, Andrea Morricone. Andrea, who will soon embark on the Ennio Morricone - The Official Concert Celebration world tour, pays homage to his father, the late Maestro Ennio Morricone with this delicate and heartfelt performance. A special music video is available today, featuring the duo of Andrea Morricone at the piano and HAUSER with his cello, alongside footage of Ennio Morricone throughout the intimate showcase.
Over many years, Andrea Morricone has become well-known for his work in both the conducting and composition fields. Amongst his many compositions his most famous perhaps is “The Love Theme” from Cinema Paradiso, on which he collaborated together with his father and for which they won a BAFTA Award.
Meanwhile HAUSER, fresh off the release of his Billboard chart-topping new full-length album THE PLAYER, which is out now via Sony Music Masterworks, share Andrea’s sentiment in the gift of appreciation for the late musical icon.
Revered globally for his captivating live performance, HAUSER has made a name for himself with his signature cello performances, honoring those who have come before him, while paving the way for the future of classical music in the modern world. On his new album THE PLAYER, which features an accompaniment from the Czech National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Steven Mercurio, HAUSER skillfully merges popular hits with timeless classics in a way that feels fresh and inviting. HAUSER has creatively found ways to engage with cross-generational audiences, bringing life to the cello and consistently blending genres.
He recently announced dates for the REBEL WITH A CELLO TOUR, which will be his first-ever solo tour, with shows set in France, Spain, Italy, Croatia, the United Kingdom and more. Known for his captivating live performances, HAUSER now looks forward to bringing THE PLAYER’s songs to life in his forthcoming solo tours.

Great interview! At 89 I absolutely love you and your lovely music and Spence of humor! My daughter took me to your concert in Durham, North Carolina for my birthday earlier this year. You let us come in to meet you about midnight after the show and sang Happy Birthday to me and gave me a big hug -- the big thrill of my life ! You are so gifted and talented and dear and thoughtful! Please never change ! I love everything you play BUT my favorite is when you did Benedictus with a choir -- truly Heavenly music !

What a brilliant, enchanting soul Hauser is. After listening to the whole interview the second time, I’m even more enchanted with him for the true person he really is. Yes an incredible interview. Great to see them both laughing. Croatia does look beautiful. Your family had a great influence with you, very lucky. Some families don't have that. My sister plays the violin. Hauser is very dedicated with practicing and has definitely paid off, thank goodness Hauser did not give up, yes you are very talented, praise is so important when you are younger, thank goodness for that one teacher who told you how talented you are ! Great accent. Awesome that you tried a different approach with the cello after you watched the Michael Jackson song, one thing out of classical music, exciting. So great that you believed in a miracle. I enjoyed very much watching this interview and you are very much talented and unique. 🫶😊❤️🎶🎻 Congratulations on all this! Sincerely. Super Interview! 👌👏👏👏Jetzt verstehe ich endlich mehr von dem Geheimnis, wie 2CELLOS mit nur einem Stück von Heute auf morgen zu RU-vid Stars und darüber weltweit bekannt wurden. Es war auch bei mir der Zeitpunkt, an dem ich zum ersten Mal etwas von 2CELLOS hörte, über RU-vid. Es ist nicht nur die Musik, die fasziniert, es sind auch die speziellen, kunstvollen Aufnahmen dazu. Mein erstes 2Cello Konzert, mein erstes Cello Konzert überhaupt, besuchte ich im Dezember 2016 in der Kölner Lanxess Arena. Das Album "Score" gehört zu meinen besonderen CD- Schätzen. Inzwischen habe ich auch die SOLO- Tour von HAUSER einmal miterlebt, alles vom feinsten. Am besten hat mir jedoch das HAUSER - Klassik- Konzert im Mai 2014 in der Royal Albert Hall in London gefallen. Ich bin mit der klassischen Musik groß geworden und HAUSER'S Classical Cello ist unübertroffen, ein Hörgenuss der Superlative. 🎻❤️
