They have so much to give. For people just finding them now, their library is so fucking deep it's really hard to process. I've been following them for a year and I'm still finding music. Processing. Learning. I went to my first concert this week. So many people haven't heard of them still. So weird.

I felt the same way about Yeezus. I love that album now, but was initially unsure about it. It is the biggest turn around of opinion I think I have had on a record. I would go as far as to say it is has become one of my favorite albums ever. I have never understood the Death Grips comparison. Yeezus is minimal and incoprates a dance hall element. Death Grips is maximal. When you start going track by track, there is not much of a comparison to be made. Guilt Trip sounds like it could of been on 808s & Heartbreak for starters. Bound 2 obviously doesnt sound like Death Grips. Nor does Blood on the Leaves, New Slaves, I'm In It etc. The only songs that are comparable are On Sight and I am a God. Which is only 2 out of 10 tracks, and I have not even mentioned how on top of that Yeezus differs lyrically and in how it exectutes its themes. Anytime Yeezus gets mentioned, inevitably someone will parrot a lazy Death Grips comparison. However it does not seem worthwhile replying to an old comment though. So I will just leave this here instead. That aside I have been listening to Brutalisim a lot recently and it is an incredible album. Its quite a carthartic listening experience. I am really looking forward to hearing a new Idles record in the future.

I'm to old to hear this BS with every new generation of artist. Policits, commercial, authentic. Just play your tunes and in the end we will see if your words and action align. Most of the time they don;t. Who cares.

Kanye reference strange and perhaps even uninformed. True that musicians should play the music they want to. But Yeezus was not Kanye just doing what he wanted to; it was his attempt to do what others, such as Death Grips, had done before him. And he didn't do it half as well as them. Brutalism much better than Yeezus
