I truly love Agalloch, they are the only band I listen to anymore. I have their whole discography and after listening to them for years on a daily basis, there isn't one song that had gotten old or I think is bad. I even meditate to their music. John, you are one of the greatest musicians that has ever lived, and your spirit will live on forever in the hearts of many other true musicians
It's unbelievable how much I love them. In the past year I have meditated a lot about myself, I was able to accomplish a new vision of life and nature, mainly thanks to their music. I feel connected to them on a very deep level and I have been a lot more in peace with myself since. I'm going to see them live in a month, here in Italy. If I get the chance to come near him, I will definitely thank John for all his music has done for me. On a side note, I also find him extremely handsome.
I was in Romania in 2009 during the summer when Michael Jackson died and I remember seeing posters in Bucharest for Agalloch concert with Eye Hate God. I distinctly remember, the dates for the show was a small timeframe after I was supposed to be leaving Romania to return home to the states. I want to say a week or two, because I remember considering extending my stay in Romania, letting my family go home without me just so I could get to this show for a chance to see Agalloch live. I'm from the east coast of the US, and I knew agalloch didn't tour very often and I was very surprised to see them in Romania. I remember because this was not long after I had intially discovered Agalloch. They made a deep impression on me as I sat in the back of a car driving throughout the carpatheian mountains listening to "Not unlike the waves" on my CD player with headphones. Something about Agallochs sound went very well with the sight of the morning suns rays penetrating deep into the Romanian forests and illuminating this beautiful world touched me. I've been hooked on Agalloch every since and have almost their entire discography now. I regret to this day, not staying in Romania long enough to see them because ofcourse as it would turn out the band broke up and they don't play live at all anymore. I never got the chance to see them and I am saddened by this deeply. Its one of my musicial regrets, up there with missing Chris Cornell's last live show in Florida because I couldn't get off work. I am confused by the timeline however, I remember Michael Jackson's death because people in Romania made a big deal about it, and that was 2009. This says 2010. Did they do two Romania shows?
I like how at the end he is talking about how "Each day is getting worse and I look back how 10 years ago we didn't had this or that problem, I wonder what problems we are gonna have in 10 years " and this Video came out exactly 10 years before the Covid 19 Pandemic started to hit the World like a Storm.
I got to see them play live. The sound was very good that day, and they were amazing. They even played Falling Snow which I heard is rare for them to play.
Hey man, I understand your frustrations although I'm a European. But from what I've heard, the biggest problem is getting the visums to enter the States as a European band. And generally we don't talk down to Americans (far more the contrary actually :) ), but when there are people talking down on the "American metal scene", they generally refer to the metalcore. OH WELL WHAT PART OF EUROPE DO YOU LIVE IN AND ARE FROM I DONT LIKE METAL CORE EITHER BUT THERE IS BANDS LIKE CANNIBAL CORPSE DEICIDE LAMB OF GOD METALLICA SLAYER AND ALL THESE BANDS ARE POPULAR IN EUROPE BUT IM AMERICAN AND TO BE HONEST MOST BANDS I LOVE OUR OUTSIDE OF THE USA AND THEY WILL NEVER COME HERE BECAUSE THE USA IS STEREOTYPED AS A COUNTRY THAT DOESNT APPRECIATE METAL
