LOVE Worf. Why is there no clip on RU-vid of Worf going "What a handsome race" about the Antedians. Worf was so often SO hilarious. Esp because he downplayed it so perfectly. Anyone else would be telegraphing like mad, but Dorn had the confidence not to.
I've always considered Michael Dorn as the hardest-working Star Trek star of the 1990s, balancing its TV series and motion pictures. In the early 1990s, he balanced the TNG series and Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (albeit portraying his TNG character's grandfather, who defended Kirk and McCoy), while in the mid-to-late 1990s, he balanced the TNG-era films and the DS9 series. On top of that, he also did voice work, whether it's their commercials or even their audio books. He's awesome.
Michael Dorn, by the end of his roll, is one of the sexiest characters in Sci-fi. On the other hand, Michael Dorn out of character is one of the sexiest men alive.
Worf is definitely one of the best Star Trek Characters and it’s amazing how he’s changed and deepened the voice lol. Hearing him speak I love it. And I love that Michael said exactly what the women in his life thought, he’s truly a Macho Man and he is stupid at times 😆. But he had such a beautiful heart and loves his friends and a fierce protector
"DO NOT APPROACH ME UNNANNOUNCED, ESCPECIALLY WHEN I'M EATING"! I loved that episode, I knew he was bugging, when he started crawling around in his room I said "Oh yeah, he's lost it".
I liked the way Worf introduced us to glimpses of Klingon culture. I have to confess that if I saw Michael Dorn on the street, etc., I wouldn't recognize him, & no, it wouldn't be because of the absence of make - up / prosthetics. He seems like a " regular guy ", no celebrity 'tude.
My roommate and I had such a crush on Worf! I enjoyed his strong toughness yet him having tenderness and heart underneath. Also the humor of him not getting humans and women!
Worf is like many of the best of Star Trek characters (some examples: Spock, Data, Seven of Nine), he is someone that is from the outskirts of human experience and trying to figure out his place within it, at the same time not losing his own distinctiveness.
I always felt bad for Worf because, except for just a few occasions, his ranking officers never took his suggestions. But, like Michael said, he played Worf as kind of stupid so, on the show he never seemed to care that he was always being told no. Also his suggestions usually involved violence in some way and there probably other diplomatic ways of resolving the situation, but Worf always instantly jumped to violence.
TNG season one he is a Junior Grade Lieutenant by season two he has taken Yar's place fully (after he death he was acting security chief for the rest of the season) and been made a full Lieutenant he is promoted to Lt. Commander in 'Generations' and switches to command as Sisko's XO in DS9
@ 1;22 and 1;56 . They picked the worst clips. The episode those 2 clips are from,Worf and crew where being affected by a virus that heightened there senses.
Wow! So, that's what he looks like. I'm a huge Star Trek fan but I've never seen him without his Klingon make up. If I passed him on the street I would never have known that was Worf.
Worf was a fantastic character, but on DS9. Where he was allowed to florish and interact with the other actors more. Star Trek thrives in it's characters, but it needs that writing too. There's a cynical mindset that the audience just likes spectacle. No, from 87 to 2001 Trek is beloved because it made you think. It rallied people round a water cooler and chat positively. It debated race and cultures and sex got people talking. Not preaching, just talk. To debate. Today's Trek presumes we were idiots for watching. There's no gravitas anymore its just jokes. "hey wasnt Star Trek stupid" oust the Secret hideout weeds and make actual Trek that doesn't treat it as a joke.
@@SafayrBlu he was a Lieutenant Junior Grade in season 1 and 2. He became a full Lieutenant in season 3, and remained that until Generations, when he made Lieutenant Commander.
"He's a guys guy"; doesn't make him stupid at all; it makes him a man; or in this case a Klingon. I get what Dorn is saying here, however that kind of talk plays into the so-called "woke" bs. I'm not about that nonsense.
