This was so informative Bayo. Thank you. I have been wondering about opening a bank account in Nigeria just to have it there and build it up. I like the fact that I can have an account which has my funds stay in USD. That is so cool.
This is a very interesting video. can you do a recap on all things needed to get stated. 1, open a Naira account,2, bring utility Bill and passport and notarized letter of who you are and where you live, which can be notarized in your county. 3. finger print(where do do this in Nigeria) so that you can get the BVN. 4. get a BVN, 5. open the Domicillary account. 6. somewhere in here you need 2 people non family members to come with you to the bank to say they know you. 7, those two people have to have a naira account for at lest 6 month in any Nigerian Bank. 8. be sure to get Hard Token and create pin to be able to transfer funds internationally. 9. ask for internet and mobile access because sometime mobile access has issues. 10. to reactive a inactive account you can fill out one form and immediately you get your access back for accounts already set up and just needing access again. 11. YOU HAVE TO DO ALL THIS IN PERSON. NO ELECTRONIC FORMS TO FILL OUT AND SEND. give us a time frame from begining to end. people here in the US are staying it is taking a month to get the accounts open and are being ask for money to move the process along and that the bank employee is asking for money at times as well. also you cant even get a Barresta to open an account on your behave. please advise.
I’m familiar with most of the information discussed. My problem now is with new changes, before I could transfer USD into my naira account effortlessly, now they’ve made it impossible (I’d rather do that than having a domiciliary account 😏). Also, to transfer money into a domiciliary account from the U.S seems impossible too just because of the whole process, a bit of a headache..... I know it’s security reasons. Why’s the banker so scared of sharing his bank name? Aren’t bankers in Naija allowed to share information? Are these information secrets that he’s so over protecting the bank name?🤷🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️ just wondering why all of that. Naija wants diasporas to invest etc....But they’re telling us we have no say in the insecurities of the country, also CBN needs to make some changes or else people won’t be sending money like before. Thank you Bayo.
@TikkyShack I'm not a banker, I work in the airline industry and am not allowed to talk to external people about the company nor anything related to it including procedures : I need written authorization of our PR Department to even mention the name in public. I can loose my job if I don't respect that. I signed a document for that when hired. I guess it's similar for this banker.
Didn't the CBN pass a recent policy that you can't transfer $ to a third party dom account except your dom-to-dom account which defeats one of the advantage of the dom acct.
I am going to be in Nigeria in January, trying to find out I was in June and what do I need to do for a second visit, shots, have visa. You are great thank you
Hi TA. for shots. what passport do you have ? I think yellow fever is usually whats required but i recommend visiting a doctor to get all recommended shots .
This is a lot of hassle just to open a Domiciliary Account. I just don't have time to go through all these stuff. A thousand dollars to open an account?
Bro, since all they give in the bank there is only dollar master card and you know some of us live in Europe ,how do we open mobile banking withOut euro master card account since they don't give the card, and you know card is required for Mobile banking ....,is they any other option to carry out transaction on euro account ?
@@thenigeriannomad OK, you know the Naira card I have I use it for opening my mobile banking that is by typing those my card number on the front of my card and the 3 digit numbers at the back .
Nice one. Please I need Clarity on this. Just yesterday I sent 752 dollars to my friend's dom account through world remit. I had thought he would be given over 3k naira with the new 5 naira talk only for Access bank to tell him that the policy is only for cash pick ups. This is the same bank that told him that there can't be cash pick up for money above 300 dollars, so he had to open a dom account. Please is there something I need to know?
My Banker said none of this is true or right. They should get the naira special if it came from worldremit. Also, the $300 CAP is not right. I have got $1500 before. I think you need to switch banks bro.
THERE IS NOTHING WRONG IN INVESTING IN NIGERIA.(BUT DON'T PUT ALL YOUR EGGS IN NIGERIA BASKET) USE RATIO 20/80 AT LEAST UNDER 20% IN NIGERIA AND REST 80% IN HARD CURRENCY. AS A CHRISTIAN GOD HAS GIVEN ABRAHAM FREEDOM TO MULTIPLY IN HIS GARDEN AND HE DOES NOT NEED PRAYER TO DO THE MULTIPLICATION.(NIGERIAN ARE CRAZY ABOUT PRAYER) NO NEED FOR THAT. GOD HIMSELF HAS GIVEN US THAT FREEDOM.
@@olumideafariogun8032 They usually say they don’t have dollars. Also, now it’ll cost you money just to put dollars in your own domiciliary account.😞 A bit annoying there. I have a naira account that I even want close and the process is already giving me headaches ...ugh😑
To be frank with you , your so called Banker is “ zigzagging “ on all the questions that you posed to him in order to educates your viewer about “ how to open a Nigerian Domiciliary Account “. Next time , find another banker who can think on his feet about banking system ....in Nigeria .
