Éblouissante dans la Reine de la Nuit, bouleversante dans Lucia di Lammermoor et La Somnambule, Natalie Dessay a aussi marqué les rôles d’Olympia, Manon, Musetta et Cléopâtre sur la scène de l’Opéra. Après une formation à l’École d'art lyrique de l’Opéra national de Paris et une carrière internationale, elle décide de se consacrer au théâtre, à la chanson et au récital. C’est au Palais Garnier que la soprano a choisi de faire ses adieux à la scène.

J’espère que ce concert sera enregistré, filmé. Et surtout, laissez-nous encore quelques enregistrements CD avec Philippe Cassard avant vos adieux au chant classique, c’est très important pour vos fans de toujours dont je fais partie car vous allez nous manquer 😢

Une artiste et une femme qui, outre son art, touche "aussi" par sa franchise, son intelligence. Ce n'est pas toujours permis d'arriver à synthétiser et à formuler...quand on ressent beaucoup. Soprano léger...mais profond.

I'm very sorry to hear that she's bidding farewell because I was really hoping one day she might come back one last time to sing Offenbach (La Belle Helene/La Grande Duchesse de Gerolstein) with her husband, Monsieur Naouri. Nevertheless, I'm grateful for what she has done and I sincerely wish she can now rest on her laurels, in a way where she can continue to find fulfillment and purpose in her life.
