There isn't a reliable narrator amongst them, methinks!

Louis' unconditional and pure love for Claudia breaks my heart. He's convinced he's about to be killed, and his last wish is that Claudia is safe and loved😭 I must say, the score in this show is beyond beautiful and adds so much to the story. I absolutely loved the music at the end of this episode.

This season has absolutely killed it so far. It’s SO nuanced. I’m so impressed every episode at how well everyone has done and how amazing the direction and lighting and writing have been. Such incredibly work.

i would like to begin by saying you are GORG! and you pick up on the subtle hints! i love that! "you led him there so he could destroy it" *lestat, children of darkness* *louis, the theatre* *daniel, dubai* my prediction: the intelligence agent's files will clue daniel in on armand's lies that will open louis' eyes and a lot will go down in dubai.

Yeahhh it’s been in my mind since the end of S1. (I have rewatched SO. MANY. TIMES. )We know Louis loves to read , why would the bookcase be out of his reach ? Made me sad.
@RowensARTstudio
@RowensARTstudio Месяц назад
Yeah, the first time I saw that in S1 I literally had to pause and just stare at it. Because my immediate thought was 'why are the bookcases where Louis can't reach them? He loves to read'. Combine that with the fact that you never see him reading, other than Claudias diaries, with how he was holding Daniels book in ep 1 (like it was precious to him). And then now, how he literally had to ask Armand for his own daughters removed diary pages. It's very clearly a control thing, that's obvious. Armand controls everything in that penthouse... But my theory so far, is that its part of their relationship dynamic. And it's a parallel thing. In S1 it was very clear that Lestat quickly learns that giving Louis "things", giving him gifts is one of the fastest and sure fire ways to get all the good things, from Louis. Love, affection, Louis smile and warmth, etc. We saw that with the theatre tickets/tux/date thing, with the Azalea Hall... So I'm thinking this is Armands understanding and attempt at the same thing. Except at this point I don't think there's much that Louis actually wants, desires, not much that Armand can really gift him with. So I think what he does is withholds things, like books. So that when Louis does 'want' for something, Armand is the one who can give it to him. Which we do see, when Louis asks for the diary pages, Armand says yes and what does he get? A kiss. A split second of intimacy from Louis. And knowing Armand from the books, I'm not surprised at all. But, alas... it's just a theory. I could be totally wrong 🤷🏽‍♀

With Claudia the wouldn't last thing, Louis asked What? and Armand said that her mind would break apart, her brain wouldn't be able to keep in line with her body and the distress that causes to her psyche would only get worse so she wouldn't last eventually she would end it. I believe that's the point he was making.
@iwillcry
@iwillcry Месяц назад
And how he said he's seen it all before. Assad even mentioned that Armand relates to Claudia, tho there's obviously more to their dynamic but I do think that scene was just him sharing his perspective rather than a threat

You're familiar with at least the first book! Those are my favourite type of reactors. 😍 Same, this episode was the best so far, this season, and I'm convinced they're just going to get more harrowing from here in the most amazing of ways. Lestat is such a tart, I love him! ❤Yes, that was Nicki and it's hilarious that Armand essentially brushed him off as some mortal nobody. Not important at allllllll. 🤣 Do you want to come upstairs? (for some fuck?) Are you inviting me in? (For some fuck???). LMAO.

I think they will end Claudia for breaking rule 5 , her killing of Bruce ,because there must be a reason her diary and his name was brought into the show so much ...I wonder who even made Bruce a vamp?.....................................and they know Lestat hasn't met the true death.........................................please Lord don't let her go by way of rat-box ................................next episode will be tears I fear.............................our poor beloved Nicki ,here and then gone so briefly ,Lestat still thinking about him many decades later as he met Louis ...................................................I will never believe Lestat loved Armand truly

I agree w/ other comments re Armand’s story feeling off. I thought it was interesting that Armand painted it as Lestat ran away after he said he loved him (his interpretation). Louis said it was because he is a narcissist (his interpretation). Yet, my interpretation, is that Armand showed himself to be more powerful than Lestat, wanted dominion over him as his coven leader, AND Armand took his lover and the coven likely fed on him OR tortured him. No way would I have stayed. He learned what he needed: how to fly and make a vampire and then ✌🏾✌🏾. I love how the show is delving into memory and the things we tell ourselves about our past, good or bad. (And before some of y’all ask, no haven’t read the books but plan to. Did see the 1994 movie. That’s my only reference point.)

I feel the twists coming up are gonna leave me discombobulated lol. That bookshelf catch was gold..At first I thought it was for aesthetics and because Danny boy is a nosey fck and would go snooping if he could but hiding it from Louis who can't fly makes damn good sense. I'm starting to think that even some things we saw in season 1 aren't true...That terrible fight between Louis and Lestat I am starting to question how accurate that was...it's clear at this point Armond has omitted many things from Louis' mind... I'm wondering if he's aware of it and trying to get out of the trap Armond has put him in.

What a wonderful episode! Seeing the introduction of Raglan James absolutely floored me. Such an interesting character. Your observation about the bookcase is spot on. Armand's version of events is really interesting bordering on absurd lol. We finally got more of Lestat-the brat prince! I hope we do get more of Lestat's version of him and Nicky. I'm really enjoying your reactions.

Lestat wants what he wants, when he wants it, this adds to his charm. Like, U said with the book case, I feel this is a manipulative act by Armand, to keep Louis from knowing certain things, since he cannot fly. If I were Armand's coven I would be worried, do to the fact, he let someone destroy his first coven, what's to keep him from destroying this one. Lestat is physically abusive, but, Armand is mentally abusive. Katie, I love your accent and your tattoos.

I took it as Armand saying Claudia’s mind will fracture. She’s mentally an adult but physically a teenager who is now going to be playing a baby in a play for 50 years, you add the Bruce trauma, the Lestat and her aunt abuse and the fact that Louis is not doing well most of the time and it doesn’t seem impossible that she would break eventually. Even when Armand says “she won’t be here long” I took it to go hand in hand with “what is time to a vampire”, it might’ve taken her 48 years to break but 48 years to a 500+ year old vampire isn’t long at all

They know Claudia's lying about Bruce. Most vampires have an ambivalence towards their makers. Claudia's exhibiting none about "Bruce". That's likely already a flag for the coven.

This is easily my favorite episode of the whole series. Lestat at his preening finest. Lol The bookcase is such a heartbreaking catch. I believe Louie’s interpretation of Armand and Lestat’s encounter came off as just a little bit resentful. I may be misreading the situation but that’s how I read it. I’m loving Ben Daniels as Santiago. I think he’s doing an amazing job. I really enjoyed your reaction and your takes on the episode.

@@yourvalentine3726 True, but I 100% think Armand is very actively lying. Out of all of them, because they all definitely do exactly what you're saying. Just like everyone else... But out of all of them, Armand and Claudia are the ones who very intentionally lie. For various reasons. I would bet ALOT of money (that I don't have) that it's gonna turn out that alot of the things that Armand has said has happened, alot of the things that he's telling both Daniel and Louis. Are simply just completely false, and he'll be very aware of it. Like saying "and I never have" about harming Louis, then not being able to look Daniel in the eye. Because he knows damn well, that's not true at all. And the thing is, it's so canon Armand. Assad is embodying Armand in ways I genuinely didn't think possible. It's wild.

I have a feeling the rat box was alluding to her demise, which now I don't know which is worse, book fate or possible show fate. I think Armand went after Louis for he was spurned by Lestat and Louis got what Armand wanted, so, like book Armand, he "took" Louis as a strike back at Lestat. For that bedroom scene in Ep1 (I think) was cold and nothing like the bedroom/coffin scenes between Lestat and Louis, which has me thinking they aren't as romantic as they portray to Daniel to be for even when they rejoined Daniel, the hand holding and smiles seemed forced, which I think Daniel picks up on. Also noticed, maybe nothing, but in Ep1, when Louis is moving his hands, it's nearly a mimic of Armand moving his hands as they're seated on the couch. It was subtle, but nearly mirrored, like a puppet master pulling the strings. Again, may be nothing to it.

Armand is a dirty little liar. I won’t say much but don’t trust his side of the story. He was obsessed with Lestat and Lestat hated him. If they go by the books, Armand definitely lied about his Coven and his relationship with Lestat.
@fortelewisandrew2426
@fortelewisandrew2426 Месяц назад
Both Armond and Louis are hopeless romantics, albeit unreliable narrators. That's why it's imperative that Lestat's perspective must be expeditiously addressed. You see that Talamasca's presence is being felt like in the companion series the Mayfair Witches 🧙‍♀️ with the introduction of Raglan James, who'll play an integral role throughout the remainder of this series namely in regards to the Vampire Lestat.

I was worried that Armand was going to kill Louis until he started fondling Louis's hair. He can't keep his hands off him like Lestat. Is anyone surprised that Louis invited Armand upstairs after telling him about his history with Lestat and Claudia not living for long? I wonder if Louis's motive is to seduce Armand to convince him not to tell the coven to kill Claudia. Do you think Armand really loves Louis or is he using him to get to Lestat? I know Lestat rejected him and I wonder if he sees Louis as a prize. On a side note, Louis did not look like he was into that kiss lol
