Armand IS Amadeo. First named Arun as a little boy in Dehli, he was sold to slavers and then to a brothel, this until his later maker, Marius, bought him at 15 and renamed him Amadeo, and although he "saved him", he still kept "donating" him like the brothel keepers. It wasn't until Amadeo turned 27 and was very sick that Marius made him a vampire. But they separated when Marius, as Armand says, is killed by other vampires and Amadeo is forced to be with the new coven. That same one who gave him the name "Armand".
yeah, armand was talking about his backstory in the museum scene - he was born arun then renamed amadeo by his maker and then renamed armand again by the coven. very excited for episode 5, it's my favorite of the season (out of the episodes that have already aired) and one of my favorites of the show overall
They served us up some Lestat and I really appreciate it. The book doesn't have a place for him in this part of the story but they've worked him in as an hallucination and in Armand's backstory. It would have been missing something without him, for sure!
For me this season surpassed season 1. Please keep in mind that Armand and Louie and Claudia are unreliable narrators here. Armand is a complicated cat. He's a very interesting character from the books and I enjoy how he's being portrayed here. We found out today that we're getting a season 3 and I'm so happy!
@@virgosims2368 trauma can affect your brain. how you experience events and how you remember them. louis is absolutely an unreliable narrator. armand is just a liar. 😂
I feel weird about a potential romance for Claudia. Even if she's been alive for longer, she still has the body of a fourteen year old. It's just icky to me.
If it's "icky" for you, then you're disrespecting her whole storyline. She HATES being trapped in that body. She CRAVES a romantic companion Madeleine knows she's an adult because Claudia explained her teenage-like appearance as malnourishment during the war which is quite believable, especially for Madeleine. So stop being a twitter snowflake or go find another show, this one is gonna have some things that are a lot worse
@@Jev_the_fluorescent_shrimpf*ck off, there was absolutely no need to end your comment with an insult like that. You can get your point across without being rude.
@@Jev_the_fluorescent_shrimp it's icky because being attracted to a fourteen year old when you're an adult IS icky. I already acknowledged that Claudia is older in experience. Doesn't change the fact that her body is that of a child.
The dress shop woman is Madeline. She's played by the phenomenal Roxanne Duran, who will answer everyone on Twitter who asks her questions. I have never seen someone so available and gracious for her fans. Total gem of a person. We're getting season 3 and I'm crazy excited! You seem to be big fans of Lestat, so you're really going to love the next season 😊
And yes, Arun was Armand's name when he was a little boy, before he was turned. And Maitre, the name the coven calls Armand, and later Armand calls Louis, means Master. Armand's actor, Assad Zaman, explains that this new dynamic is a way for Armand to let someone else have control over him and his decisions/responsibilities, thus Louis telling him what to do or giving him advice, making him feel less stressed about the Theatre situation and going back to his innocent self, this as a way of dealing with Armand's past. But also, a way for Louis to go back to his cold business man persona. It's an interesting dynamic that's to come.
everything is so fuuuuucked and i love it. also, i love switching from patreon to your little conclusion segments at the end, you guys are on it. and i agree, season 2 is so dense with intriguing characters and information that it tops s1 (though i hold that season near and dear to me). i do miss lestat as well though, so i'm glad they incorporated dreamstat at least for a little while. daniel's "are you schizophrenic, louis?" was CRAZY but warranted. imagine being armand and hearing your partner of 77 years say "i could feel his breath on the back of my neck".................. the louis/armand divorce arc and lesbian bed death has been in the making since the 40s i guess 🤒
@@yasminemixon9340 I think they're very succinct actually, especially because they do comment on a lot of little things throughout each watch. i mean i'd never be opposed to hearing more of their thoughts, obviously, but i'm quite happy with the way things are now. ☺️
Yes, Armand was named Armadeo after he was sold to Marius a very ancient vampire. Until he was attacked by the coven that Armand became a part of when they took him from Marius.
It's crazy... I feel like a vampire nowadays... The way I recall years ago we weren't even allowed to marry... Hell we were so feared... And now I've lived so long I can see straights reacting to an amazing show... With amazing roles... And they love it...
bro the way i spent the entire week trying to figure out the end of "i was at home picking" and was not prepared at all for the full line 😂 also its always hilarious to me how louis' breakup with imaginary lestat is like taking your senior dog out for one last walk through the woods before shooting him in the backyard
You forget, when vampires move, the average person cannot see them, just like no one is hearing Armand and Claudia arguing on the street. Santiago flies without detection on the street.
I don't think the two examples your mention are examples of people not being able to see vampires. I think people weren't present to see Santiago fly, and nobody was paying attention to Armand talking to Claudia. Vampires can move fast enough that humans can't see them and glamour humans to forget or see something else, but they just weren't paying attention in those scenes.
Saw someone on twitter talk about your reaction videos and Ive been hooked since last night. Thanks for sharing! it's always great to watch folks who didnt know much/anything about the story, get into the show.
Thanks to Bryce and Rob! 🧛♀ I read earlier today that we're *definitely* getting a third season. This is great news. The stories/characters are so good; I hope they adapt all of the novels.
No it's not. Why did we start to call devotion "codependency" again? Also, idk if you watched with yoir eyes open because Louis rejected Armand's companionship. Maybe Armand is "codependent" (in your terms) but Louis certainly is not
Another enjoyable reaction - like hearing your theories and willingness to question what's going on! Hope you enjoy the rest of the season, guys! The break-up with Lestat was so sad, but Louis needs to find himself a therapist instead of a new partner, lol! Also loved the RR reference with Love Is Dumb - Jacob's a talented guy!
After the season is over(I’m pretty sure the story of the 1st novel will end, and S3 will start the second novel) you should try to react to the movie version of Interview
