Armand is not fooling me, he set this whole thing up, he's the only one who as the power to stop time, and I think just like the movie. He's going to use Louise to get rid of the coven. Like, you said, Armand is a Bullsh@ter. WE SEE U ARMAND!

In the movie, Louis burnt down the theater in retaliation for them killing Claudia. Armand knew Louis would go beserk, so Armand helped by not alerting the Coven to what Louis was going to do. Louis asked Armand why he didn't say anything, and Armand said in the movie that the Coven was stuck in its old ways and not willing to change. This was also an out for Armand. So again, he got Louis to do the heavy lifting!
so far I feel like ep 5 is the only time we're seen the real armand, everything else just seems like an elaborate story that he's created to make himself seem like this sweet helpless guy who had no power to stop what happened in Paris... 💀 aint no way the man who was out here torturing daniel for 6 days just because louis called him "fascinating" is that innocent plsss
theory... Claudia does die because she is the one who took vows... louie never took the vow to become apart of the coven... and since le stat is still alive... he didnt kill another vampire
This season has been sizzling. Everyone is firing on all cylinders. If the show doesn't become an award darling during award season like game of thrones or the bear the industry will be failing. The acting the storytelling, the sets and lighting has been so rich
I so wish Anne Rice had lived to see this take on Lestat in all it'd glory. Given the fact that after the first novel in the series Lestat is the central character and focal point of almost every other faction (including the ACTUAL devil and even Jesus in Memnoch the Devil) that getting him right is the most essential challenge any longform serialized adaptation of the Vampire Chronicles HAS to get right. They DEFINITELY got it right! Armand was a chd sacrafice when he was turned in the books. The changes made to the era in which this season takes place make it SO hard to compare the original to the adaptation, a far greater effect than the changes of era had in the first season.
I agree 💯 with all the points you've made. It's like for me, with Queen of the Damned, the ONLY thing they got right in that movie was the casting of Aaliyah as Akasha. In my imagination, that's how Akasha looked when I first read the book. Beautyful, Regal , looks delicate but is not lol far from it. And so does Louie it would seem. The thing that made Louie turn against Lestat was his treatment of Claudia. With what Armand let happen or initiated. I can see why he has such animosity for him. When they meet Daniel.
Ahhh! I'm loving this show... being a book reader it's hard to explain certain things with out spoiling anything for the rest AND the fact that the show is making many differences from the book however it keep other things very original.Great for the reader fans. For example (not a spoiler) the coming up trial. In the show it looks like it's in front of the audience but in the books it's not. In fact if I remember correctly, Claudia nor Madaline were there for a trial. In the book, Claudia's and Madaline relationship is of a motherly type, kind of. Imo, it was more of Claudia trying to live womanhood through Madaline. Claudia was only 6yrs old when she was made into a vampire. She was stuck in that body/image, but she was older then Madaline in years. Claudia was past needing a mother. To me, It's ok.. that the show used a "teen" actor for the part. It wouldn't sit well for a child to play Claudia given the dark topics. 🍒
Yes Lestat does not tell them anything about coven rules. He also knows a shit ton about vampires history at the point he meets Louis, but was sworn to secrecy and can't tell him anything about where they come from, Lestat explains himself in the next book, The Vampire Lestat, possibly one of the best books ever written.

In the book, she was only 6 years old when she was turned. She lived many years in a child's body. She was RUTHLESS except with Louis. the Claudia from the show is very different from the books, you might not like Claudia from the books as much as the show one. Also it was meant to punish Lestat for making her . Lestat loved Claudia in the books he just wasn't as good to her as Louis was. And Claudia's death haunted Lestat for a very long time, a few more books lol.
I have to laugh at how many people are "amazed" about what is going to happen when of course Anne Rice and her son Christopher coached AMC on the series and planned to stay close to the novels with just shifts in time settings. . And though time settings were revamped from the original 1976 book from Lestat meeting Louis for the first time in 1791 New Orlean's plantation and making him a vampire .. to the AMC version set in Storyville New Orleans in early 1900s for the first season and then Le Theatre des Vampyrs set in the novel in Belle Epoque Paris (1870s-1880s) reset during then WWII period. Obviously LESTAT will be back!!! There are another 12 novels!! LOL And volume 2 is entitled THE VAMPIRE LESTAT, LOL. I guess new generations have never once picked up a novel. So I'm just sort of floored when I see people wondering if (a) Lestat will be back (b) will Claudia be alive. Etc. I won't give the spoilers. But I guess no one also watched the 90s movie with Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt? Wow. But always nice to see recaps for the fans. I was skeptical at first about the AMC Interview but the shifts to making Louis and Claudia gens de couleur, works so well and I loved the reseting in turn of the century New Orleans and War torn Europe. The Theatre des Vampyrs use of German Expressionism, early animation was brilliant. And Sam Reid is absolute perfection as Lestat. (so in love with him) Also in the series I appreciate the inclusion of foreign language and Lestat's French is excellent. I also love the detail into music score and costuming which is so well researched. Many won't get the music references unless you are a musicologist. But for example the love theme for Lestat and Louis is the second movement of the Ravel Piano Concerto in G (1932) which was of course the time period of setting of the scene and by a gay composer. Same goes for the duet of Claude Debussy's Pan, Dieu du vent d'été (Pan.. God of the Summer Wind) is the perfect music for Lestat's narcissism and romantic self-absorption. As an an acting/music coach in the industry I had the pleasure many years ago of attending one of Anne's Vampire Balls in New Orleans before Katrina. She then relocated for a while to Palm Springs. Her passing was heart breaking but I know before her passing .. she and Christopher have created the direction for the series and the upcoming books. Season 2 will end with the finale of the first book. Let's pray the series is picked up for a 3rd season which would most likely start with the 2nd book VAMPIRE LESTAT. which I'm excited to see.. as Lestat becomes a Goth Rock star. It would be perfect set in the 1980s New Ro Goth scene. So many possibilities. And thus we will in season 3 get Lestat's pre-vampire days as the wolf hunter, his asshole father, his going into studying for priesthood and his deep connection to his mother Gabrielle who makes into a vampire when she is dying of consumption. And then Lestat's love affair with Nicholas (which was flashbacked in season 2) etc. In AMC version I love the modern reseting in Dubai which makes perfect sense. I can see why Anne wanted to reset and have flashbacks to San Fran (the start of the first novel). It makes the series much more relevant to modern audiences and fresh for the die hard fans like myself that have read all 13 books in the Vampire Chronicles. Happy watching. I love to see Claudia and Madelaine together. So cute! And again, what an interesting character Armand is, he is getting better and better. What a shame that his character is getting so much trashed here, when in fact all characters in this show are amazing in their own way, making this timeless piece unfold in such a breathtaking way. This episode I want to praise Santiago as one more strong and fascinating character among strong and fascinating characters. And not to forget, Real Rashid, you have a story, too! nice surprise, indeed.
you think that was Armand choosing to delay turning Madeline was another part of his plan to have Louis to himself? I mean he already knew Claudia's time was up and she would be killed by the coven and he gave Louis multiple warnings and signs about this. But i'm talking about how he "never turned anyone" purposefully. I'm about sick of Armand and Louis' dramatic ass. I was only watching for little Claudia anyways lol.

Well, shouldn't Lestat be on trial for making Claudia? They all are hypocrites so it isn't making sense. I will wait for the next two episodes before I turn on Armand. I like Lestat but now I prefer Armand and Louis to just stay together. They've been together this long for a reason other than him being glamoured by Armand. Clearly, Louis knew what Armand did and decided to stay with him so there is more to what happened than what we have seen thus far
I get what you're saying but personally I just can't stand Armand. It goes to show you how Louis is a terrible parent. He literally choked and threatened Claudia his child and he still decided to stay with Armand. so armand, who put the whole coven to sleep in like half a second, couldn't fight them all cause they would kill him, so his only choice was to backstab them. Armand just lied to lie It didn't surprise me that Louis was threw Daniel under the bus. The minute that he started saying that Louis told him to erase his memories 😒😒 he's single-handedly ruined the projection of Daniel's life due to what he said the only thing that kept him going was Louis words of encouragement. I will always prefer Lestat over Armand because at least he owns who he is.

Armand was in love with Lestat for 100 years before Louis existed. That kinda Obsession doesn't stop. Louis is well aware that Armand hates Claudia. That's why he tried to convince Armand that Claudia was a burden and that she will be better off leaving with Madeline. It's clear as day that Armand kill two birds with one stone and gave Claudia to Lestat. Lestat in present-day is well aware that Louie is with Armon and even when Armand called him telepathically Lestat wasn't upset or angry. He was just concerned he even felt comfortable enough to tell Armand to make sure Louis knew that he loved him. Armand in that moment was not just jealous of Louis affection for Lestat but also lestat's. Affection towards louis. 💯💯

Claudia was a master manipulator. She learned from the best Lestat. She became jaded after all those years and she trusted no one because of her age and all that she has seen. In the book Armand is nothing like this version
I don't know I have a feeling, that Armon didn't really go to paris, or whatever he was going to go ,to what I think that he stayed at the Mansion, and stayed to listen to their conversation, or he did go out to eat but listen 👂 to their conversation far away since he has that power, so them beging sneaky really was not worth it.
Chile. We already know they gon' feed Claudia to them 🐀 cuz they showed us in the preview for the next episode of them pushing her head down in that box that they keep them in. Plus, in 1 of the previous episodes when the guy --- the playwright vampire --- who had the job b4 her was showing her how it works, he was telling her to listen for a certain sound the 🐀 make when they're consuming the body of the humans they throw in their from their stage sacrifices. He told her that when the 🐀 get REALLY loud, that means they're eating the person's ❤️, & that's the moment they really die. I think they're going to off 😵 Madeleine 👩🏻🦰 1st to make Claudia 👧🏾 suffer --- perhaps feed her to the 🐀 1st; THEN they're gonna feed Claudia to the 🐀 & make Louis listen as they eat her ❤ & he's gonna have to listen to it stop. THAT'S when he's gonna lose his 💩 😵💫 & end the coven like in the movie version of IWTV & set mutha 🏤 ABLAZE 🔥! Then I think even though Lestat's testimony is what's gonna help het Claudia ⚰️, he's still gonna be under the delusion that Louis is still gonna want to be with him because of their maker/fledging bond, but Louis is going to be like you just k#lled my daughter/sister 😡!! But Armand had a hand in it too. So I cannot think of any reason for Louis to go with Lestat OR Armand, except for the fact Louis is a sad, hopeless codependent who can't be without a man for 1 breath of his miserable life 🙄! He probably chooses Armand becuz aside from the reason I just mentioned bout him not being able to exist without someone being in love with him (and him having soneone else to blame for HIS mistakes & project his flaws on to), between the 2 choices presented him through Lestar & Armand --- Armand probably wins a slight bit of Louis' forgiveness because at least Armand advocated for HIS life, where as Lestat already had proverbially took his life & NOW Claudia's by helping to put her on trial which resulted in her death. When faced with those 2 choices, Armand was the SEEMINGLY "less" of 2 evils 🧑🏾/🧑🏻🦰.
whats going to happen to Daniel? what happens to him in the series is a mystery as we know what happens to Claudia and Louis and Armand are in Dubai, but his story is still in the future
Yes, to some of these observations, such as, these vamps are hypocrites. Starting with Santiago confession to Claudia that he has broken the rules, Lestat shows up and guess what, he isn’t dead. So where’s the crime. However, he created Claudia which is a no no. But I think he advocates to have Claudia to die at the trial. And that is a big no-no for Louis. Which brings me to why I think Louis is with Armand, who I think , comes to Louis defense by allowing Lestat do the one thing he (Armand) knows will push Louis into his arms and that is advocate Claudia to die. So, maybe all this time, Louis blames Lestat for Claudia’s death. of course, the vampire bond is there butstill Louie blames Lestat. And blames Armand for the betrayal.
@@mysweetperspectiveI don't think the writers added it to be creepy or that they don't understand the implications, but they did it to show how complicated Claudia's situation is, even if she sought Madeline for a mother figure she would still want a romantic partner and it would still be icky because her body doesn't reflect that of an adult.
It seemed a bit cringe, to be honest. I get the whole love is love movement and be with who you want, but that just seems a bit odd. It gives almost pedophile vibes. 😒
It implies Madeleine as a pedophile. All this time she was falling in love with someone she thought was a child. Then makes it acceptable in her mind because she’s build this narrative in her head that she falls for people she shouldn’t.
Madeline & Claudia is a little weird but in their world it’s kinda poetic. They both SEE each other and appreciate each other for who they are on the inside. Claudia doesn’t look at her like a traitor/enemy & Madeline sees Claudia as the 40+ something year old woman who is trapped inside.
I’m sooo glad they wrote it this way none of this is in the book but I do wish they put the experiment amand did to Claudia. And it’s clear amand changed a lot of memories n this is y he was mad at book because all this will come out

See, I still have my soft spot for Armand. I mean I think he’s weak and self serving, backstabbing and manipulative. All that, but I think at least the way the writers will frame it, he could have saved himself and one of them, and he chose Louis. He wants Louis all to himself anyway. Truth be told, Louis and Claudia could’ve and would’ve been dead a year or two ago if it hadn’t been for Armand keeping their secret. I only feel sorry for Claudia, but I think Lestat will petition for Claudia to die because she actually did kill Antionette. But also, she broke a multitude of rules. And Lestat deserved to die, I don’t feel sympathy or nostalgia for him, because I recently rewatched season 1 and his abusive ways are fresh in my mind.
It's so interesting seeing other people's perspectives I can't stand Armand 😂😂. After re-watching season 2 is very clear that we are seeing Lestat through Armand's eyes. In episode five Lestat had no anger in his heart for Armand for even being with Louis. If anything he just wanted to know if Louie was okay. He even felt comfortable enough to ask Armand to tell Louis that he still loved him. I think that Armand absolutely knew that Lestat was alive. I think Lestat and Armand planned to kill Claudia together. Armand was in love with Lestat for 500 years before Louis ever existed. I think Lestat cares for both of them and is happy that they're together. Armand, who put the whole coven to sleep in like half a second, couldn't fight them all cause they would kill him, so his only choice was to backstab them. Armand is a liar plz don't fall for it 😂😂
@@niyah7139 😂😂 it is funny how people have different perspectives. See, I think we aren’t only getting Louis’ perspective from season 1, but also Claudia’s perspective from her diaries. An they jibe with Louis’ rendition of events because they were written without mind manipulation. Armand could also make Louis feel different about Lestat if he really wanted to, but he hasn’t. I think as much as Louis blames Armand for Claudia’s death, he’s got to also blame Lestat, who was also a liar and manipulator. That may be why Lestat hasn’t gone after Louis and Armand in this retelling.
This episode was beautifully sad. I love Claudia and Madeleine scenes, they were so good together! My favorite scene was when Madeleine got turned into a vampire, and we see her life, and when Louis saw what she sees in Claudia, my heart hurts, she was so beautiful, both of them were so happy and beautiful, and it's sad that both will not live long to be happy with each other. But I love the cafe scene, even when the happiness didn't last. To be honest, I couldn't care less for this version of Lestat (I HATED him in season one he wasn't my Lestat that I know from the books), I wasn't shocked when he was back, but then again, I read the book so I know he would be in Paris when the trial happen. I was like, Oh, okay, anyways. Again, I love Assad's version of Armand, and how the show shows him having compassion for what he had done, and how he regret it so bad because he saw how happy they were and betraying them it makes him a traitor, I love that they made him have feelings! In the book, I love Armand, but he was effing ruthless, he didn't care that he killed Claudia, he wanted Louis to himself, he was selfish, but than again, he was made very young, and a vampire that young doesn't listen. I am not looking forward to the next episode because Claudia and Madeleine, if you know, you know. BUT, I am, excited for episode 8 because Louis will riot! He will have his revenge, and I am here for him!
