he was very clear in this interview that Ip Man never taught them the butterfly knives. i wonder how or why he changed this point in other interviews.

Lun Kai mever said that. He said Yip Man never taught it in Foshan because he taught it to them outside of Foshan in another city. If you make the wrong questions you will get the wrong answers.

@@andresvallelisboa5511 Ip man only taught the knives to 4 or 5 people. He believed that they gave him bad karma, because death happened to people he knew around him after he taught them to 2 PRIVATE students.. Also because of this he changed the knife form to 8 chopping strokes knives(Bart Jam Do). The original name of our knife form was "8 KILLING STROKE KNIVES". That's the the real inside truth.. In chinese culture it is bad luck or death threat to give someone a knife or knives. This is why one must always pay for knives, even if they are a gift from a friend or loved one. Even if it is just a penny..! This I had happen to me and was taught to me...

@@RussCichon I know. In Hong Kong Yip Man changed the knives. In Foshan the knives are made to stab, and slice. In Hong Kong they are not good for stabbing. But thas does not change the fact that Lun Kai, Kwok Fu and the rest of his students learned the form of the knives from Yip Man. Remember that Yip Man leaved Foshan and he lived in the House of Kwok Fu for a while.

Già. Perché il wing tsun moderno è mille volte superiore al wing chun tradizionale. Infatti il lineaggio di Leung Ting è il migliore al mondo perché è moderno mentre i restanti lineaggi al mondo sono tradizionali.

Thanks again Sergio .... you are truely opening the Wing Chun history for us before its gone forever.... How interesting that the Bart Cham Doa only appeared in HK after GM Yip Man left Fatshan? Is it possible he acquired it from another Grand Master in HK? Post 1950? Wing Chun a life time to learn .... 5 minutes to give up...
@puddingfaustvt
@puddingfaustvt 6 лет назад
Or.. what is much more likely he didnt teach them because they were not ready yet. Bart Cham Dao is the very last thing you are supposed to learn in classical Hong Kong school because it shifts your focus from your elbows to your hands. If you learn it to early you ruin your focus on your elbows.
@andresvallelisboa5511
@andresvallelisboa5511 5 лет назад
No, you are saying bullshit. Yip Man did not teach the knives in Foshan because he did it in a city close to Foshan. They learned from Yip Man in Foshan for 1 year but their training continued outside of Foshan for 3 years or more. If you ask the wrong questions you will get the wrong answers.
