Tune in for today's very special episode of the 31 Minute Podcast as we interview a real life green Beret. Chad is an Australian Special Forces Soldier who has done tours of Afghanistan, trained to get his green beret and served to protect Australia. He talks about the mindset he needed to get through all the very tough times during his career whether it's swimming around shark infested waters, staying calm in the middle of a gun fight or trying to protect his team from child suicide bombers ! Chad shares his thoughts and gives advice on how you overcome adversity in your own life !

Really enjoyed this one. His story has inspired me a lot more now to pursue through goals and not have excuses for why I can’t

I quite agree with this SAS guy. I'm a single parent raised three boys. But 4 kids all up . I'm an ex combat engineer sapper and also paratrooper. I'm 58 now go to the gym between 1 to 4 times a week. Jog at 8K 4X a month. Mass of the time not all the time. And talking into public speaking it's not easy at all I don't know why I could do anything else by that. But SAS people I take my hat off to them that's really extreme that deserves respect. When I was overseas I met this Australian SAS member from WA. And he went to join the French Foreign Legion.

THIS GUY LITERALLY MAKES PEOPLE WET WITH ENVY AND ADMIRATION. EVERY OTHER PURSUIT LOOKS TOTALLY LAME IN COMPARISON. A REAL LIFE SUPERHERO IN EVERY SENSE OF THE WORD. THANKS FOR YOUR SERVICE, BRO AND HAVE A WONDERFUL LIFE.

During time of Vietnam war and c ouple decades after, there was no glory in joining the military. It was an embarrassment for losers and no hopers only . Baby Boomers wouldn't have been c a ught dead in the military and there were plent of scandals concerning duntroon. Following the war crimes prosecutions which will happen one day after classified documents get released in a decade or several decades who knows what the perception will be again . But none of the military forces can work strictly by the book . Some forces like say Russians and Indonesians are pretty bad . The Israelis appear to be the most exemplary and there'll be arguments here .

Great interview and questions mate. Too many interruptions while the man was trying to speak though. I started to anticipate when you were going to cut him off which became distracting but otherwise great work!

Not a huge deal but at least get the unit he belonged to correct it's just basic respect. He wasn't with SASR or you even referred to him as a green beret at one point, he was 4RAR Commando regiment which then became and still is 2 Commando regiment.

Incorrect information time slot 1:23. General entry for the Army starts at the rank of Recruit. Once basic training is completed you will go to your corps training. Private rank has different pay levels depending on ones qualifications. Army Officers: There are several pathways. The main two are university or direct entry at RMC : The rank of Officer Cadet is given to those who are studying at the Australian Defence Force Academy. Their rank is then changed to Staff Cadet upon entry to the Royal Military College, Duntroon.

As a u.k and Australian citizen. This is a weird podcast. This guy is the creme of the crop weapon. He's not a soldier he's an operator. There's no one who would talk to a guy like delta or sas like this. Very bizzarre. This guy gets the best kit and he's more dangerous then all the green berets in america. Go listen to a sas or seal team 6 you will realise this guys the elite of the elite. Why ask him these mh questions. He's killed a bunch of bad humans.

As a patriotic Australian I'm trying to find out who is responsible for approval of footage released to the media, specifically Mr Masters footage? I'm pretty sure this shit ain't fluid. I've tried to find out. Tried every agency I'm aware of. I'm sure that there is somebody who is responsible for this within a high ranking position, this is traitorous. Anyway any idea please let me know. BAIRDY.....I don't forget brother. Future decisions made are definitely made

They did their job. Their job is not to be nice. Killing combatants who’ve dropped their guns isn’t nice but if you leave them they’ll be back the next day with guns again. Take them out then and there, the problem’s solved.
