There was one tip from Prime that almost doubled my salary. It had something to do with a whiteboard interview, that if you don’t know the exact answer (yet), just talk them through the process of how you think, what you might do (or not). Let them know you are thinking, how you think and how you could get to the solution. They where very impressed and where sure that even I didn’t met the standards of a senior developer, they knew I would be able to solve the problem anyway.

As much as these words may be harsh, they are refreshing to hear and somewhat motivating depending on your perspective. It was really insightful for me, I just lack the grit and testosterone for someone who is 20 lol, bad interviews imprints pretty harshly in ones memories

More random advice (that seniors should already know) 1. Make your stories clear and don't overload the story with details. The interviewer will dig into parts of your story to pull out technical details they care about, so keep it well told. 2. Make sure your story is clear on what YOU did, not what you were apart of. It drives me nuts when a story from someone was full of "We found a bug. We fixed the bug. We wrote a doc about it" - teamwork is nice, but what did YOU do?

Having no fear of rejection helped me get my first job after only 3 months of learning JS. Of course there was a lot of dedication, luck and burned bridges involved, but anyway 😂

Just landed a job after internalizing all these lessons from my first interview somewhere else a year ago. People who focus on advising you to "sell" yourself have got it all wrong

Hi trash, I have several huge gaps in my career, and have a hard time to even get into the interview rounds nowadays, even with ~1k applications (literally 5 applications/day). What would be your general advice for this situation?

What about a generic software engineering internship? Is that something to prepare more on? I cannot study every single algorithm ahaha
