I hope Intex pays you for these videos. You’re the one who helped me set up my pool, and now you’ve helped me with the maintenance. You’re the real Intex MVP!
@@traciesplace I'm putting of my pool thats about 2,000 gallons of water, do you know how much shock I use for the first time and how often I shock the pool?
I wish I had customers like you when I was working on pools, you really take good care of it. You'd be surprised how many people spend 20k on a pool and then don't do any maintenance. On how long to run your pool, you want a turnover rate of 1-1.5. Meaning you need to run the entire contents of your pool through the filter 1 to 1.5 times per day. I imagine it's a pretty small pump, maybe moves like 20gpm, so a few hours per day would be plenty. Also be careful with the shock, if your shock is calcium hypochlorite or sodium dichlor it's a good idea to dissolve it in a bucket and pour it in.And if you do it that way always add water to the bucket first, then the shock it. Never put shock it in an empty bucket and then pour water on to it. It's good you were moving it around with the skimmer because if it sits in on spot it could bleach the liner. And make sure you shock after a heavy storm, that's when the chlorine demand is going to be high. And with you water chemistry, adjust your alkalinity first, then ph and then chlorine level. The water flowing out when you opened the filter is water from pool return and skimmer flowing back. Intex should have supplied ball valves for both of those lines so you could turn it off. Your doing a great job, enjoy the pool!
They supply stopper caps but, I think as thorough as Ms. Tracie is she may have been doing that the filter housing will clear out any water in the lines on this side of stopper. Isn't this a fabulously covered video ... And thank you for the all, pH, chlo.... Sequence info as well as the don't add water to empty bucket and shock tab !!!
A little extra tip, before you open the filter, put the stopper caps on the tube part in the pool so you don’t drain the pool through the filter being open. Yoi have a very nice clean pool
Ma’am, I gotta say you’re husband is one heck of a lucky guy. I’m sure he appreciates you and if you are the way you are with this pool among other household and family things, God Bless you. My wife is good at spending my money, that’s it. One thing though, if you raise the filter above the water level, you wont lose water when you change/clean the filter. Excellent video, great job and instruction.
This is the most helpful maintenance video that I’ve seen so far on this pool! Thank you so much. We just got at 8ft one and I was feeling so confused on what we need to do to maintain it. Now I don’t feel nearly as confused!!
Great video ma’am. A tip for you for the future. If you have a small plastic table or something use it to sit the filter housing on while opening it. The water didn’t stop running because the top of the filter was below the water level sitting on the ground. It’s definitely ok doing it that way as you didn’t lose much water but if you want to clean it really good or don’t want much water lost just keep top of filter above water level. Thanks again for great video. Oh also remember to re-vent the top of the filter once you’ve opened it up to get all the air back out of it. 😊😊
I just seen on your FAQ that the black pieces are for changing the filter. So disguard my comment. I would definitely still vent the filter again after change out though.
Thank you This was very helpful I watched the set up videos to, I’m setting up my pool right now it’s 10:30 at night and I’m loving The company of your videos.
Thank you for making this video. I was so confused but this makes it so much easier to understand. I got a pool similar to this and my wife was ready to kill me because I had no idea and was confused how this worked. Just kind of a spur of the moment purchase I thought the kids would love. I was so confused. So thanks for making it simple to understand for normal folks. I was ready to load the pool back in the car and return it so my kids thank you to for saving their summer pool dreams.
Many many thanks - your excellent video is the answer to my pool prayers! I created a reference list that incorporates your instructions and adds a few thoughts from a pool guy that commented here: 10', 1000 gallon pool Protective gloves, and old clothes Solar cover - fold up on each side before pulling out to keep stuff on it from falling into the pool. Brush bottom and sides Skim top and whirlpool Clean filter and change out if necessary Test strip Using tester results, treat in this order: - alkalinity - ph - chlorine PH needs to be 7.4 through 7.6 Shock - less than half a bag. Use at night so filter can run overnight. Put pool water in bucket FIRST, then add shock. Mix well. Put into pool and stir with skimmer to distribute thoroughly. Shock once a week with about 1/4 pack unless pool has significant algae Shock if pool takes in a lot of stormwater. Use a chlorine dispenser for pucks. Use a 1" inch puck or cut the 3" puck in half. If using a full 3" puck, adjust dispenser for slow release. Turn on pool filter FAQs - Run filter 6 to 8 hours per day, 4.5 hours if not using frequently - Test strip: three times per week if using pool frequently, twice if not using much - Black plugs are to be used when you are changing out the filter to keep the water from leaking - White piece is for pool draining. Screw into hose and place other end of hose wherever you want the water to go. Screw other end into pool and drain. - Do Not operate pump while swimming
Hi! Awesome! Also please watch the, type into RU-vid search bar “Tracie’s Place 3 year INTEX pool update” there are some addendums and add ons with further explanation 👍🏽
😉thank you, i didn't have the patience to figure out the attachment for draining the pool. This is probably my fourth time putting up a intex pool. And i got a new one 2 week's ago. Was kinda confused for that future. Anyways just hope you keep making videos. Want to say you are beautiful, down to earth and your personality shows, 😇.
I am so glad you posted this video, too!! I bought my Intex 10x 30 pool after I found your first video about a month ago. But I’m having the hardest time finding a pump now though!
Thank you so much! We just got a 10 ft pool for the kiddos and the idea of pool maintenance was so daunting. You really made it simple and helped immensely, thank you thank you THANK YOU!!!!
I was going to ask the running of the filter question but this video covers everything very nicely! I got this same pool for free from a raffle at work and am glad I can come to your videos if I have any questions! Thank you!
Just got a 10x30 pool and set it up yesterday! This pools for me 44, no kids, cause I luv to swim and lay in the sun and I figured I'd start small to learn and this helped about the shock! It's all I need, I'm in Vermont so we only get about 2 mos to swim anyway!! Plus I figured the smaller the pool maybe the quicker it would warm up!
Hi Jacqueline! Awesome 👏🏽 Also check out my 3 year update video. In the RU-vid search bar type in “Tracie’s Place INTEX pool 3 year update “ for more in depth information 🙌🏽
WHERRRE was this video when I had this pool?? 😂😂 I bought the metal one of this size. Waiting for it to arrive and doing my research. I'm trying to master this pool thang. THANK YOU!!
Thank you for making a video explaining pool maintenance. We bought a 10' pool, very similar to yours but a different brand. I've never owned a pool before so I am doing a little bit of research to learn what to do. So thank you for sharing your pool maintenance routine. - Renee
You’re welcome! Also remember it’s a bit of trial and error, some things depend on how often you use the pool as far as the chemicals needed or not needed 👍🏽💗
TRACY!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR VIDEOS!!! YOU DESERVE AN AWARD OR SPONSORSHIP FROM THESE POOL COMPANIES!!! AND YES! I AM YELLING BECAUSE WITHOUT YOU, I WOULD HAVE TORN THIS POOL UP FROM FRUSTRATION ALONE!!!!! 😌😂😂😂🥰💪🏼🙌🏼
Thank you for the video. I just got a similar pool by another brand and have no idea how to set it up and maintain it. Its just water in it now. I will go get the correct care chemicals tomorrow.
Glad I could help! Also watch my latest video- in the search bar type in “Tracie’s Place INTEX pool 3 Year Update” this will help with things I have learned while owning the pool 😊✅
Thank you so much for posting these videos Tracie, and for sharing great info with us. My husband and I finally gave in and bought an easy set pool just like yours, had to buy the pump separate, I watched both your pool videos and bought almost everything in your description list. Thank you so much, it will make having the pool a lot more worthwhile during this quarantine.
TYSM Tracy. This helped me so much. Now I need to buy a few more things. This is the best video for me bc I bought the same size pool. You were so helpful.
This was super helpful, thanks! How to use the chemicals was really confusing me. I watched your first video too when we were levelling our ground (our lawn was like the surface of the moon!).
Thanks girl you really saved me! Those instructions they sent are horrible! Your video's got me through because I was about to give up lol. I hope they are paying you, and tell them to put your link on the instructions
Im sure ill catch some heat from this, however I'm just keeping it real. I watched 2 videos. I didn't get a whole lot of helpful information from them. Then I came up to this video and I stopped because I thought to my self.....OK this is a woman doing a video, I'll bet I'll learn alot more from this one why? Because women tend to explain things more in detail and that tends to piss our husband's off because they don't want to know anything more about us then they already do. That's why they can keep looking at their newspaper and just throw out a "yes Dear" evert so often. Haaaa😅 OK in all serious now, thank you so much for a very informative video. You left nothing at all out and I highly appreciate it!!!
Thank you Tracie! This is a really great video. I have the same pool and I had never used a shock treatment before so I really appreciate you explaining all the steps for good maintenance!
Thank you, struggled with the original instructions I think so that is why I put up the pool and actually didn't take care of it. This is making me want to go and get another one! Thanks again!
I just set up this exact pool. I bought the same pump separately that you have. I added you video to a new playlist, ‘Pool Maint.’ Excellent video. Thank you for providing the links.
Oh, I forgot. With thisbhighbheat and trees I have to keep the pool covered when not in use and run the filter almost always because ibam thinking by the water moving, with the heat it will prevent algae. Enjoyed you video
Thank you so much! I’m so glad we could help- feel free to check out the maintenance/up keep videos to go along with this one in the drop down description box below this video 👍🏽✨
Just bought this same pool and have found this video extremely helpful, thank you! Questions, what is the process of the initial set up of the pool? After set up when can you swim? And what needs to be done to the water before swimming? I’ve never owned a pool so unsure of the care process. Also, can you break 3” tablets to fit in 1” dispenser? Thanks again 😃
I would like to see how clear your pool is before the end of season. I bet ducks won't get in it .you must vacuum or the green will overwhelm you if you rely on a cartridge filter. Please prove me wrong. Poor socker moms buy these pools and they believe it's the greatest thing until it gets out of control 3 weeks later. This is a good video Tracie you did a great job your experience is obvious.
Thank you for this video! I have a 8x10 pool of the same brand for my kids and I am totally new to all this. I really appreciate all this info. God bless and enjoy your summer!
I've got the 10ft pool and looking forward to getting it set up during summer season. I live in Ireland, we dibt get much sun but I've always wanted one for those lucky sunny days. Your tips have really helped me with useful knowledge ill need before I get started. Jyst need to buy the filter system and cover now, can't them yet with lockdown measures.
Thank you so much!! This was awesome and as easy as possible! Much appreciated, I’ll be going to watch the other videos you post about it!! You’re awesome ☺️☺️ LIFE SAVER!
Great video easy and to-the-point thank you for creating and sharing it. Our granddaughter has the exact same pool and now I'll be able to maintain it thanks again
Interesting video ! As a trademark for your pool videos your husband should pick you up and throw you in the pool ! that would be so funny ! Have a great summer !
Great video, your instructions were simple, clear, and precise. Answered a lot of questions thanks . I like the way you took the time to explain things and didn't rush through.
I just bought a bigger pump and a skimmer for mine. I also bought an auto bottom vac. 10’ x 30” for the grands. Well, me too. Hard to find info for these smaller pools. Thank you for the info!!!! I just added pool stabilizer, I have a floater for the tabs. I’m using 3”, and I think that they maybe too much at a time. Thank you!!
Thanks, Tracie. Intex should pay you for the ultimate instructions, compare to their poor useless user manual! Can you upload another video to show us how to use those black pieces? I'm still not sure how to use them.
My 3 year old son loves this video, he's obsessed with filters for some reason. We are going to be setting up our pool this weekend and your video will be super helpful!!! Thank you!
@@traciesplace I live in a middle of nowhere unfortunately :D I fixed my filter pump. Had to take it apart completely sprayed some WD-40 left it to sit for 15 min and bam it works! I will start filtering water and will see what's the progress.
Your a real one.. I know this is a year old but damn you made this stupid proof..!! Which is good news for me! Now me an my fam can have a nice clean simple chill pool for the summer.... Ty again for making these videos!!!
