In this video I go over how to remove the iron in the well water of your intex pool and all of the chemicals and measurements that you will need to start it. Just a note, if you lift the filter pump above the height of the intake hoses, you can easily change the filter without losing water.

its not too bad!. inital set up isnt so fun.but we leave ours up year round and just drain out the water and refill. just jave ti make sure to add chemicals so often

Use an rv filter attach to the hose when filling the pool.

Yeah, unfortunately pool chemicals can be a bit pricey. But once it’s set up, checking the pool with the strips and adjusting 1-2 times a week is a rather quick process.

I am going to pay a company to deliver water and use one of the hose filters when I need to periodically add water. My pool is a lot bigger

Helpful hint!!! cover your inlets with panty hose footies and a hair tie .. keeps the tiny bugs from getting into your filter folds..

If you don’t have well water or brownish water after filling, you can add a saltwater pump between your pool pump and inlet and add the recommended amount of pool salt for the size of your pool and it stays crystal clear. That is what I do, but water is clear already. My friend has a different water supply and her pool water was brownish from the get go. I’ll show her your video because she has spent so much $ trying to get it clear I’d be afraid to get in her pool because of all the chemicals she’s added.

Your pool will hold roughly 2500 gallons when full. So when you are buying chemicals and it recommends a dosage for every 10,000 gallons just divide that recommendation by 4 as a good starting point. Hope this helps.

Why not just use an inline rv style filter while filling pool? Edit: I used an online filter and my pool is still green and filter is dark brown in just a few hours. I did use city water but we are in the country.

Hey! Thanks for the videos. We have officially subscribed. Quick question though, only because we also have well water and are going to attempt putting up a pool this season. Do you have water softener for your well? Just curious if we are going to have this same problem when we go to fill our pool. Thanks - Ian & Jen

I do have a water softener that filters iron but my hoses bypass the softener. If your well water has iron in it and is red/brown after filling it up I would recommend adding some iron removal product. I actually add the iron removal product and run the pump all day cleaning the filter frequently and repeat daily until the water turns clear. Depending on the size of your pool or pump this could take a couple days. Though I’m working on a new sand filter video right now and the sand filter cleared out most of the iron in a little over a day. Good luck.

My water comes out clear so we thought it was normal and added the normal chlorine and the next day it's yellow like hlaf as much as this pool but yea im trying to figure it out.

@@DCAANDPRAY mine had a lot of iron. You can use a few socks on the return hose to help filter out the iron if you don’t have a sand filter. Or use an iron removal product to help your filter remove the iron.

2 rv filters and a 36 oz jug with poly fil and small holes drilled in the jug and garden hose attached.....100% clear pool water on first fill.... replace poly fil "IF" needed.

if i add polyfill to the sock will that help filter? or is that much for the flow? i bought the sump pump you had just waiting on it. also, what is the white part your socks weere connected to on the sump?

The white pieces are some pvc fittings. I added a check valve to the top of the pump, which wouldn’t be necessary for this application. Polyfill wouldn’t hurt, but I’m not sure if it would help much either. And while this did help to clear up the water and I have multiple uses for my sump pump, upgrading to a sand filter cleared up the water the next year a whole lot faster than using the sump pump. Just thought I’d pass on the information.

A 15x42 pool holds about 4000 gallons of water. So if your chemicals are suggested for 10,000 gallons divide that suggestion by 2.5.

In order for chlorine to work effectively the water must be in a specific ph range. So we use ph+ or ph- to keep the ph in the ideal range.

I used some rubber bands when attaching them to the hose. For my sump pump I used a zip tie.

I picked up a gallon of liquid shock at my local Menards, here in the Midwest. You may be able to find it at your local pool store as well.

I Just Bought This Pool Off Of Amazon And Watched Your Videos About This Pool. I Domt Have The Money To Buy Any Of These Items. I Thought I Could Just Use My Hose From Outside. Should I Send The Pool Back Because I Know Nothing About All Of This Stuff I Just Wanted A Pool For My Backyard 😫😫

@@LexxManiMuvaa You may not need all of the items. Most local pool companies will test water for free if you purchase your supplies from them. But you will want to get your ph and chlorine right, and the stabilizer just helps make the chlorine last longer. Sadly pool chemicals are not extremely cheap and without them your pool would likely turn green very quickly due to algae,etc. And as a side note, the chemicals on Amazon can be expensive. You may be able to find them much cheaper at your local pool or hardware store. Good luck.
