Now those clips from Defy: The Realest between Nick Wayne and Shane "Swerve" Strickland have a bit of backstory behind them and it started on February 12th 2022 when Darby Allin showed up to DEFY Year 5 to present Wayne with an AEW contract but he couldn't sign it until he turned 18 (Wayne was 16 at the time). So Strickland wrestled Wayne a few days later at DEFY 50 and they had a great match. Strickland and Wayne would face each other again over a year later at DEFY: The Realest but this time it would be for Wayne's DEFY Championship, a belt Swerve had held twice before. Both are now full-fledged signed to AEW but have returned to DEFY from time to time.

About the briefcase: That was Impact's Feast or Fired match. 4 briefcases each with something in it. 1 has World Title match, 1 has a secondary title shot, 1 has a Tag Team title shot and one is a pink slip. The rules are there is one briefcase on a pole in each corner, you have to bring it down and step out of the ring to claim it. Steve Maclin brought it down but Rhino was waiting for him, Moose caught it after it slipped out of Steves hands during the GORE!!! Moose won that briefcase since he was out of the ring with the briefcase, which ended up being a World title shot.

If you guys don’t understand how wrestling spots work, or how setting up wrestling spots work, you don’t need to react to wrestling content. If they’re not “standing there” or “sitting there” the person doing the spot can get hurt. The pile up spot is so the diver doesn’t get hurt, Dub.

Difference is they are just standing there watching.. They could atleast be fighting each other right before the flyer lands on them.. Go back and look at wrestling pre 90's the pile outside would be fighting when the guy lands, not just standing there looking at him with their thumbs up each other arses.. Hell they are all competing so you would think hmm let's move out way so the flyer crashes then I can beat his arse.. Yess wrestling is fake so they don't want people hurt, but there are ways to do it without them just standing there watching as a guy flies off top rope..
