I'm not much of an expert on sharks, but I do know little bit about their behavior, In Africa. Particularly in South Africa, Cape Fur Seals usually are prey upon by Great White Sharks, cause that's the sharks primary food source along the Africa coastline. So in cases like this, the Great White mistakenly view John surfboard as a seal, and this stuff happens like this most of time, where a surfer gets in the water and BOOM! A shark goes in for the kill thinking that a surfboard is a seal.
