In Poland we heave our own high-land style folk music which is very popular and admired (even in popculture like no other regional Polish folk). And this one sounds strangely similar yet different just like all highlands of the world share the very same briskness, yearning... I love it.
listened to "Los Jaivas" and i am profoundly astounded. it hit me fast. really my kind of music. love the language. didn 't knew it. you showed me the way. thank you for this! You love it, mate
@@driesdebackere2112 this is the kind of message in the internet that i love. I love music, so if you can recomend me some hidden gem, i woould be apreciated!
Si quieres escuchar algo Andino + Rock Psicodélico, te puede gustar Wara - El Inca, es un disco muy interesante y si bien no se parece a los Jaivas, tiene su propio estilo dentro del folclor andino
Yes! Los Jaivas are magical. Alturas de Machu Picchu is one of my favorite albums. I also recommend El Polen, from Peru, beautiful psychedelic folk, they are Los Jaivas friends. They have influenced each other.
They would perform in downtown Minneapolis like 30 years ago. Set up in spots where the melodies would echo through the streets adding joy to any day. I bought this album back when we had culture on the streets.
Did 2001 and the subsequent 2007 crash happen and destroy all prior cultural achievements and economic prosperity to be substituted by American corporate totalitarianism which globally destroys us and secretly plants us with cybernetics to connect us to a global AI security network wherein we're tortured and played with day and night- without most of us knowing? God. Sure seems so.
there's still culture. maybe people don't go out to support it so much.. or people don't seem to visit the channels of Real songwriters like Castle Hassall.. who get hardly any views or new subscribers, despite writing potentially future Classic songs like "Wild Rover Again" that got the blessing and best wishes from Mr Brown from The Corries when he heard it.. hint hint.. come visit.. please!!! no spam intended, just tired of no one finding my songs even though tough guys have cried when they heard them.. thanks if you let my comment stay here, it's hard being an ugly old songwriter when I'm trying to get my songs known! Best wishes to you all from Rolland at Castle Hassall on the edge of The Atlantic
I bought this recording in early 1990 at a performance in Venice Beach. Transferred it to CD and still have it. One of the few I kept all these years. What a surprise!
This is only the second album of Andean music I've listened to, and I ask why this music isn't more widely recognized and appreciated? Rich unique culture behind all these tracks. Thank you for sharing this with the world.
🇵🇪 Beautiful! This reminds me of the folkloric events when I was in school in my beautiful Peru, rich in traditions and the simplicity of Andean life, connected to nature and in community with others.
Yes wore out my cassette 20 yrs. ago from the group that played in San Luis Obispo, Ca, 30 years ago. I’ve been searching for this sound again. Such joy!!
Just got back from Ecuador with my wife son father in law and met her whole family they have lots of inspiration from this music style as well as the most beautiful mountains of the Andes! Too blessed to be stressed!(writing this from her yt page)
it's interesting reading all this comments bc i was expecting 2 or 3 Peruvians/bolivians comments at all Im born in Brazil from a Bolivian family so the andes culture was deeply present in my childhood seeing this made me very happy that our culture is being seen by so many people around the globe :)
I had the same thought, I got this in my recommended a few weeks ago and I just assumed it was because I listen to huaynos at times. Scrolled down and asked myself why are all the comments in English lol
Desde el sur de chile escuchandolos y un gusto para mis oidos gracias y ,sigue borracho que tendras buena suerte....abrazos desde pichi-parga,chile....gracias,...
that's funny! "stay drunk, you will have good luck"! :) i need to learn Spanish.. would you like to talk sometimes and i could help you with English if you'd like? Best wishes from Rolland at Castle Hassall.. in Scotland
Kindly mention the name of the group/ band? They are definitely not Inti Illimani or are they? What are those tribal howls and hoots? Is this shepherd's music? Can there be bit more information on this form of music and the musical groups please. With love and regards from India 🌺🙏🌺
Authentic music of the Andes from Central and South America (San Juanito, Colombia, Edcuador). Performed by indigenous musicians from the Andes. Instruments used are quena, flute, rondador samponas, bandolin, charango and more
why does condor pasa (7) sound like 'sound of silence' to me? is there some story about to write sound of silence they got inspiration from traditional andes music? :D
The song is a parade tune from the Peruvian zarzuela titled "El Condor Pasa" composed by Daniel Alomía Robles in 1913. He based this melody off of the traditional Andean music of Peru. There have been hundreds of covers performed/recorded across the globe since, and is considered the second national anthem of Peru. Amongst all these covers, Simon and Garfunkel recorded one of the more well-known US versions in 1970.
I used to have a cassette tape with this that I'd listen to for hours as a teen. What a fortuitous set of circumstances that RU-vid would recommend it to me now all these years later.
I'm pretty sure this is what my dad used to play from cassette in our car when i was a little kid. What are the odds. Music like this always finds its way around the world.
just noticed the similarities to Sound of Silence in Condor Pasa. I never knew that's where that melody originated. So beautiful :) I love traditional folk music so much
i think i saw these guys at the Edinburgh Festival back in the 1980s.. my mum would take me and my sister to cool things like that.. thanks so much mum! :) Best wishes everyone from Rolland at Castle Hassall in Scotland
Every single time I go eat lunch at the nearby Burger King (Muncie, Indiana), they are BLASTING this album in the dining area. This has happened no less than 4 times. Last time I asked the manager to put on something that makes me want to eat a hamburger (like Kid Rock) and then he just turned the music up. This does not put me in a burger eating mood
@@RoyvilleMedia it’s a mental illness thing, you start feeling like nothing is real and you’re in a dream, or that you’re not in control of your actions and you’re just watching yourself live, it can be pretty scary
this album led me to listen to full Andes culture traditional music and i can't stop listening, especially Amores Hllaras and Coplas de Amor AND Recuerdos de Calahuayo
