We did a trip from Niagara to Thunderbay a few years back and is still my favourite. So this video brought back some good memories. I grew up jumping between the rainforests of Far North Queensland and the Great Barrier Reef. I was super lucky to have a boat captain for a father, who dragged me on every trip that he could. I didnt appreciate until I was an adult just how magical my childhood was.....I used to be envious of the suburban kids that lived in the one house and never moved. I realised after my childhood that I was the one that everyone envied, not the othrr way around lol. I am used to really amazingly beautiful landscapes, having visited and lived in some of the most beautiful places on our planet. But the Pacific North West coastline of Canada and Alaska is really quite something else entirely. Its been calling to me.....very veeeery loudly. Ive been watching Alluring Arctic Sailing channel and even Small Town Monsters recent Alaskan bigfoot hunt videos, as well as channels like this one. You know how people say that they felt drawn to a place deep down in their heart and in their bones? Well, I never used to understand that phrase, or statement more like and just sorta took it as a nice sounding but hollow little string of words........BUT.......Now I understand it. I am feeling a huge draw towards BC and Alaska....the coastline in parricular to start with (I want to buy an old aluminium yacht and sail it ovrr and spend a couple years just bobbing around some of those incredible bays, where there are whales in the crystal clear deep blue waters, whwre you can step onto the shoreline and into the cloud forests and then hike a couple of Kms up a river and you have the snowline and snow covered mountains. Its impossibly perfect....ridiculously idyllic. If I cant do the yacht aption for whatever reason, a roadtrip is the next best option. Fly to Seattle from Australia...buy a capable vehicle and a heap of extreme cold weather camping stuff....then drive up the coastline as far as the roads, the weather and commin sense allows. Then drive all of the way back down and drive past all of the Great Lakes etc until I end up on the East Coast of Canada. Maybe then I'll go North into the Arctic. I'd love to do a Winter in the Arctic Circle working somewhere up there doing whatever. It would be a truly meaningful experience for me. As I get older, the heat of Australia is getting harder and harder for me to deal with. Give me freezing weather....snow, ice, sleet, freezing rain and dark grey skies...any day! I'd swap you for the 38°c swampy sauna that I'm sitting in right now (my bedroom) in ine second flat!!!

My friends dog got sprayed at Kootenay Lake BC.Blasted around me at the right time,and took the perfume meant for me.He rode in the back of pickup going home.Border Patrol guy commented,coming back across border to US.Another excellent video Jim.

Hiya, went back to re-watch, as I didn't comment. This one was so fun I loved Huddy's peek-a-boo soo sweet and trying to say 'gichagummee'? 😅 I've no idea myself. Also setting up camp, I was saddened at the skunk episode for poor North. Stunning scenery and your incredible children who every episode I'm thrilled at their developing stamina-staying power and accepting of the situations (I know how children are,) but they are amazing. All credit to your parenting. Tori does such hard work, I admire her so much, a rare beautiful woman. Thank you❣️

Great video. The Terry Fox memorial is on my list to see. When I was only 11 years old in Montreal he started to bring Canadians together with hope and to see where he (unfortunately) stopped would be an inspiration for those who are going through difficult times. That one young man put Canada on the map still gives me hope today.

Tory on the Hudson chase scenes was a page of every family camping w/ young ones. Laughed loud. I've been across the top of Lake Superior many times, and viewing it with you brought back many memories.

Super cool trip. As a vet, I can tell you that definitelly the best remedy for skunked dogs (and people) is concentrated tomato sause, but you need lots of it (like three or four cans the size you used) and leave it on the skin for a few minutes (at least 10 minutes) before rinsing thoroughly with warm water (preferably). 😉

A skunked dog is one unforgettable time. It happened to my old dog Rosie 3 or 4 times when we lived in Vancouver. Having never smelt skunk spray before, it was one of the worst stinks ever and it took a long time for it to wear off, even with tomato sauce which didn't work. The local pet store had a product that made the smell bearable. Looking forward to this adventure. Lovely to see the boys and North again.

That Superior route is awesome. My wife and I deliberately took 3 days to go it, camping in Neys PP (beautiful) , Sleeping Giant PP (too touristy), and, you're right, you just have to take your time and stop. It is gorgeous scenery. And Old Woman Bay is so relaxing. We spent a day there, and watched the old woman's face change as the day's shadows rearranged it. And, when the tide reverses that river at the mouth, it is special.

Hi Jim- For future reference .This recipe chemically alters the skyunk's oils and works like a charm. i tried it myself on my nutty Lab and was amazed> 1 quart 3% hydrogen peroxide, 1/4 c baking soda, and 1 tsp of dish soap mix together, sponge on the dog's fur with rubber gloves- work it in good- Let sit 5 mins and then rinse with plain old water. Like Magic.

So great to watch. I can’t wait for the rest. It reminds me of family road trips when my kids were little. One thing though, traveling with kids is a time warp. Some days go for weeks and some are over in a blink. All are awesome when you are with your kids.
