all dislikes are definitely from the clarinet section. shoutout to all the clarinets who had to play this in band though. i feel your pain. *Edit: ok flutes too
I am playing this song on Xylophone / Marimba right now, and enjoy playing it during every rehearsal. The speed is the most difficult part of the song, but it is so much fun to play !
Everybody's talking about the woodwind part (which I'm sure is hard, I wouldn't know), but nobody's talking about the snare part. My arms practically turn to jelly after a good practice session.
Same, I love how Super Mario Galaxy was orchestra, we're playing Flight of the Thunderbird in Band which is also by the person who made this song (Richard Saucedo), and the name of this song even matches the theme of Super Mario Galaxy to!
I'm actually an 8th grade alto sax myself, and I remember doing this in 7th grade 😂. The clarinets and flutes kept complaining during thus piece while the saxes and bass clarinets had to deal with them. At least, that's what we thought... Our teacher caught us talking to each other about it and made us play that part to try it. Much, much sympathy was felt for the clarinets and flutes 😫😂
Im 7th right now and im really excited to play this because the highschool that is close to my house invited our school band to watch them play at a football game and this was one of the pieces that they played
Every time my friend, aka fellow first clarinet, and I play the beginning and end of this, we look at each other, trying to see who can mess up the most. It's pretty even once we realize, every time, that we both look like buffoons with our faces red and cheeks puffed up😰😂
Ik its a bit late, but I played with my middle school's top band when I was a 6th grader. We played this piece. I could play maybe 5 Measures? Good times.
Pbtrooper89 grade 2.5 isn't difficult, but the beginning of this piece especially becomes extremely difficult to play on first clarinet after about two measures. when we played this, all i can remember is how out of time the clarinets would get with one another
Pbtrooper89 It is when you're pressured to be 1st chair which is weird cuz you've only been playing for a couple month compared to everyone else who's had 5 years of experience yet they really suck
t YESSSS!!! We started playing this song and I'm first chair for clarinets... every time we get the song out, I always say, "Okay, first clarinets.... Are you ready to play the Death Song?"
Sometimes I hear a melody in my head and I stress so much when I can’t remember where it’s from. Into the clouds just popped into my mind and I found itttttt. Couldn’t remember the title for my life
I'm playing this but the marching version for my school's field show and I'm so glad I chose to do colorguard this year instead of clarinet for marching
We were going to do this piece for all county last year but it was too difficult according to the teachers. I was kind of upset because this is such a cool little piece! Maybe I'll get to play it some day.
bro im legit playing this in band atm, and we are only going 100, and our band director says the tempo that is marked is 160 😮💨. (Im flute btw) i actually think its impossible to go at 160-
If anyone is here we're playing this song but the whole band is stuck in quarantine 😂 but I play the tuba so I can't see the flute an clarinets suffer.
My band teacher had us play this song in under a minute and 40 seconds… and we had to turn our music stands around! I was the flute playing the solo and I was an absolute nervous wreck before the concert. It was all I practiced the week leading up to our concert 😅
Im in 10th grade now and I played this in 8th and this has been one of my favorite songs so far along with encanto and among the clouds. And go french horns
As a trombone, I can say I've gotten lost in my many measures of rest. I have this for 8th grade honor band. Gotta get up a 6am & go to school on a Saturday, yee haw
Got straight ones with song my Junior year. Played tuba so I had a lot of resting to do lol, but when it was our time to go we couldn't be a single beat off.
Second chair all county! I’ve yet to play this song, but in a camp a few years back the band above mine played this, so I’m familiar. Shoutout to anyone in carteret county honors band. (Reeee I have second chair I’m nervous) Edit: also yes I get it death to the Woodwinds. You can stop now.
Its funny how we played this music because we actually combined four total bands-1 high school band- 3 middle school band( i was in the top band for middle school)it was a really big concert
i hated this song. it traumatized me for life and every time i see the score it reminds me of the suffering and the finger cramps 12 yr old me had playing 1st clarinet 😭 hope to never see this piece ever again
I don’t get why people keep saying stuff like “rip to woodwinds.” I get that this song is faster than your average song, but the fingerings for those 16th notes paired w/ an 8th note at the beginning and towards the end aren’t really that hard. You’re only moving one or two fingers, depending on if you use alternate fingerings.
