Just wanna say, I love an "Example of Play." As a player, I find them really helpful to get into the designers's head and grasp their understanding of how their game might work.
I nearly hyperventilated when I found out McDowell and Nohr were collaborating. I’ve enjoyed running adventures written by both creators. Please consider working together again (maybe a book of one page dungeons? Hint hint!) PS. Into the odd is my favourite setting and ruleset.
Looked at my kickstarter activiy feed and 6 of the creators I fallow all have backed one project, Into the Odd Remastered. I've never seen that before. You got my money! Thanks for your hard work. I enjoy getting to watch the videos you make and to hear your thoughts.
Grabbed the pnp version of into the ODD, enjoyed the Electric Bastionland hard back...be great to see this on KS. Layout is looking very clean and great art!
Just got my copy the other day! 🙌 Great system, thank you so much! We play a homebrew version of Skull Fungus' "Mutants of ixx" and it was made with the Mark of the Odd Licence so we are vary grateful for your system! 😃
Immediately backed as soon as I got the notification. Been following you since Skullheads (can't remember the actual title, it was set on a crazy generation ship), and ItO is one of my favorite set of rules. I'm currently thinking of mixing it with Mothership, which has a similar feel.
I just paid the $40 for the physical book, I wish I had bought the PDF instead though because the book is pretty tight... BUT it does have a handy bookmark installed, and it does feel very nice (something Free League are masters of). I'm conflicted about it, I love what is here, and I am nervous to bring it to the table (one of those "Hands off" things).
Johan Nohr did the layout for Into the Odd Remastered, but for Electric Bastionland and Mythic Bastionland I used Affinity Publisher. Very much learning as I go! Glad you're enjoying the games.
Aesthetically, i like the remastered version. for actual use, i'd prefer the original, more compact version. one i would buy to look at and read, the other to use for playing. shame the new version is the only one available now.
I thought this video was an hour or something. I saved it in my Watch Later cause I was busy when he streamed it. Well anyway, looking forward to hearing what he says on Free League Publishing's channel.
The stream had some connection issues and got all garbled up, so I rerecorded it offline afterward! This one is a bit more focused but essentially the same content as the stream.
It's standalone, so you don't need Electric Bastionland at all. You can still pre-order your book here: bastionland.pledgemanager.com/projects/into-the-odd-remastered/participate/ Still on track to get the print books out in April.
