Oda's daughter loves Halloween theme and that's why when oda got to know of that, he immediately made a thriller bark arc. He adapted all the antagonist to fit the narrative. Amazing improvisation i would say😂 for what's to come.
Exactly. Like they were saying, the vibe of each island is so different from each other. It's one of the more obvious things Oda does that shows off his creativity a lot
yes, it's fun and interesting, but not all the time, once you find out what's going on on the island it becomes very boring, not to mention that it has one of the worst villains this anime, very little about him makes us appreciate it in the distance

He would be what Luffy had been if Luffy took wrong step just like how Saitama would be the bald headed antagonist is first few episodes. If you get that episode, then you wud get this villain too. It's very relatable. Getting crushed in new world and then realising you can't do anything alone, you need crewmates to help you deal with things, but then don't wanna feel pained by losing crewmates again is what motivated him to these steps. Plus the warning he gives strawhat at the end, how he is over confident. Kinda reminded him of himself how he was overconfident to fight against an emperor. Its like he is the shadow of Luffy trapped in the magic mirror 🪞 where he goes to dark path instead the path where sun lies.
@@SoraToshiAki I know that analogy, but is that enough to sustain him as a villain for an entire arc? Not in my opinion, once we know about his intentions and his abilities is not that interesting
@@SoraToshiAki Oda tries many things, some he does very well and others not so much, it's normal in such a big story with so many characters and villains, this arc isn't bad, but is not among the best imo

Oda really has a knack for making each new island super distinct from one another.... yet can make them feel like a natural part of the world by the storyline's end. I'm fairly certain that's part of why OP has captivated the hearts of so many people around the globe... you two included. 😉
