Software Engineer Gina Robinson provides an overview of data indexing in Azure Cosmos DB, and best practices for writing queries with optimal performance. A database index is helpful for serving queries with minimal resource consumption with high throughput and low-latency.
Azure Cosmos DB is schema agnostic and offers automatic indexing of all ingested content. Even so, there are still things you can do for the best query performance, including:
- using WHERE clause/filters (3:13)
- enabling metrics retrieval (4:30)
- index settings and paths (6:00)
- tuning Feed Options (7:20)

Is the Query metrics available in nodeJs API as well? something similar to populate Query metrics?

I started from using JS to interact with Cosmosdb SQL API . However I now use other language which is not naively supported by Azure. I found Query (only few clause is available) is limited a lot. Is anyone know why ?
