Ashi waza is very hard to learn if uke moves wrong. I'm judo coach in Europe, and I always show to students technique from tori's and uke's perspective. In judo we train together, uke's role doesn't mean a break to catch a breath. Keep up posting, this content is great.
It’s encouraging to see such a skilled jiu jitsu black belt struggle with these basics. You taught this same sequence at a seminar I attended and I felt so clumsy, but when I reviewed the content even just a day later it felt smoother and things began to click. World class teacher of the basics.
Have to try this, but wheeling works to, if you imagine a small wheel and not a tractor wheel like the blackbelt guy did, pushing his uke arm up in the air 😂
Top notch instruction. Pure gold. I'm a bjj black belt and I teach. Never trained judo. I'm well aware this is kid level judo, but that's exactly what my students and I need, and the synergy is immediate.
@JFLO I'd love to see some of this style make it on your online app content. Don't change the instructional mind you, just add some of the content like this where you are correcting and talking. Appreciate everything you do.
I'm a JJJ black belt and I found a lot to practice and correct from this video 😄 Thank you guys! I've been neglecting ashi waza, I'll drill a bunch of those in the next weeks!
How would you approach this pull down motion @8:06 for nogi? Would you pull down with a collar tie and wrist grip or do that "turning the wheel" motion?
