In this lesson, you will learn what an element is and how they are arranged on the periodic table of the elements. You will learn how elements can combine to form compounds and how compounds form all of the substances around you on a daily basis. We will talk about the electron transfer that takes place when a compound is formed, and the difference between a compound and a molecule. Finally, we will discuss the shape of molecules and how that influences how the molecule behaves.

Kudos! I would assume that you, Justin, have an assistant doing the filming. This is very informative but it is also very well produced. I am going on seventy five years. I am retired. I worked very hard throughout my life. I was very fortunate to be able to go to Catholic elementary and high schools which prepared me for college. I was very fortunate to be exposed to an inspirational teacher in college which led me to seek a Bachelors in Science. I was very fortunate to work in environmental science. But much new science is going on. Refreshing and updating my chemistry is wonderful. Thank you!

I found this channel by curiosity and interest. I find this fascinating and the way you explain how the periotic table works keeps my interest and far from boring and actually grasp and retain what I'm learning. I wish I had more teachers like you in my day. Thankyou great channel.

Thank you very much for these lessons. You make it interesting and much less intimidating. After all these years and your first three lessons, I have a question. If likes oppose and opposites attract, why are there like charged particles right next to each other (protons) and then opposite charged particles (electrons) "orbiting" far away?

Question - at 18:47 Jason mentions "...cycle in the universe..." - is this 'cycle' or process the reason why we refer to the table as the 'Periodic' Table? If so, if the cycle has occurred multiple times - considering the number of known elements - can their creation be predicted/calculated?

Can anyone help me understanding please. How can something boil when it is very cold. I though it has to increase in temperature in order to reach the boiling point. Here is what am kind of understanding though: For the water to turn into a gas the boiling point has to be higher just like explained in the video But for the gas to be come liquid the temperature has to be in very high negative point(but referred to as boiling point) But why is it called boiling point though when it is in negative

Nature is the only true God. God didn't write any books. Humans did and said it was God. You can only truly find God if you look at the nature of everything around you. Nature itself.

@@snowgibson2982 My dear friend... The Qur’an is a book that was impossible for anyone to write 1400 years ago... In fact, it was impossible for all scholars (at that time) to write... One of those miracles... when the ignorant people said to the Prophet, “Who can create us after we die and the earth eats us?” ... God said in the Qur’an 1400 years ago: (بلى قادرين على ان نسوي بنانة) the meaning of the verse. We are capable of creating fingertips....... Today, in the year 2024, I unlock my device with a fingerprint every day... My question to you is: How did the Prophet know that the fingerprint is specific to every human being... Go and read the book of your Lord before you die, and just in case you need another miracle Tell me

Actually you are wrong, there are positive and negative polarities in AC current. They alternate at 60 htz here in the US. Simply look at a sine wave on an oscilloscope as it alternates from plus to minus. 🤪
