Yeah, this is the important thing. Always steel mittens. I loose to many fingernails in bad gauntlets.

I love this and love this channel. Id like to see videos thats focus on athletes and their suits. Like hey, were gonna interview x person from y team. Can you tell us about your suit and style. Go over each piece individually and then show that athlete armoring up. Include the historical bits and dates. I feel like a big intimidating part of getting into this is the overwhelming amount of information and having specific sources to go from would help standarize the armoring process.

That shield gauntlet looks like a good buy. I've tried a shield with a regular gauntlet and it does put it at a weird angle

Curious about how much protection you advise for wrap-over fingertips and thumbtips. More would mean more protection, but when does it interfere with control of your weapon? How about a mail inner mitten, instead of just leather? Again, more protection, but maybe at the expense of control. Best type of leather for traction? Flexibility? Durability?

Finger guantlets are excellent for more HEMA orientated armour combat

So I’ve never done Buhurt. But I can imagine They want me to be safe then not. But can I sign a waver to fight anyways? I can’t afford certain armors. I could save up… but I wanna fugh NIW

Do Russian authenticity people approve the shield mitten? It's a bit anachronistic I think, but totally sensible. Hard for me to guess what they'll ban you from the field for.

Just out of curiosity I don't suppose anyone would know where to get some affordable mild steel sheets? I'm am thinking of doing a mild steel mid 15th century black and white style with a modified burgonet with visor possibly falling buffe.
