This course and the courses to follow are designed for entry level Houdini students who have some previous experience with using Houdini. We will keep things simple as we gain introductory knowledge about using the terrain systems and Solaris.
This lesson we look at an intial build of a tree asset using houdini Labs Tree Generator tools. We will build a tree and bring it from the sop context into the lop context, focusing on making sure our composition structure is correct. We will also use houdini's Component Builder nodes to make a disk ready asset for sharing in a simple pipeline.
The end goal of this is to have a better understanding of how to work between sops, lops, and shading to build an asset for solaris to be used in a scatter system.
