Great video- love the easy breakdown. One of the best overviews I have seen online .

Wade, give this a try and let me know how it works for you. Pop all of the primers with a universal tool, then SS clean all of your brass. After sizing, trimming, debur....you SS clean again, but you'll only need to run it long enough to get the lube off. This should save you quite a bit of time.

I got into reloading about 15 years ago, bought a RCBS Outfit and I reloaded the way your supposed to, my end product was perfect, my kids absolutely loved helping me, learning how and why, I enjoyed many many hours reloading with my kids, AND We shot thousands and thousands of rounds together that we normally wouldn’t have AND I definitely saved money reloading!! Sounds like Mr Negative has stock in boxed ammo to me !!

I am wanting to get into reloading for several reasons but will ultimately make it more expensive. I like to go shot so load development seems a good way to get trigger pulls and accomplish data collection at the same time. Also being able to load projectiles that you don't commonly find in factory ammo, such as 80 to 100 gr for 300blk and 6mm ARC. I also hunt with solid coppers and it seems easier to find projectiles than loaded ammo. Plus the possibility of improved accuracy and performance is appealing.

I'm a tinkerer. I come from a very long line of tinkerers! But I started reloading to be able shoot bullet/powder combinations I wanted AND to be able to actually reach the advertised velocities on the Hornaday box lol. Also in most situations... reloaded ammo is more consistent/accurate than factory. No "factory" that I know of loads a 75gr projectile in 25-06. A 26" 300prc will easily go 2900fps with a 215gr ish pill and RL26. Hornady 212eldx precision hunter says 2860fps on the box.....its not 2860fps. Saving money might be a possibility on bulk loading pistol ammo or 300blk... but for anything with a powder capacity larger than 223 it's gonna be tough to save money. Great video!

Powder comes from the factory with 40-50% humidity in single base, and 50-60% humidity in the double base powders. When the reloading manuals give a powder charge weight it is with the moisture include in the weight. So it is with the factory ammo as well. If one dries the powder out, the rounds will be hotter than originally planned, due to the volume of powder and faster burning when lacking the moisture content.. In maximum loads it can become dangerous. And yes moisture can seep into a loaded round, as well as back out again depending on the humidity level out side the cartridge if given a week or so, unless one seals the round with sealant. Hence it is best to store ammo, powder, and primers in a controlled environment of say 49-58% humidity. This can be done within the sealed ammo cans by putting a Boveda 49% or 58% Two-Way Humidity Control Pack. Or one could store them in a Cigar Humidor cabinet that is both Humidity and temperature controlled. I personally stored my ammo in IP-65 rated boxes with silica packs in them, with Bluetooth temp and humidity monitors to boot. Within days the humidity levels were around 28%. Not good if left that way for extended amounts of time. I have since taken the packs out and replaced them with the two way humidity control packs. Now things are as should be. chronoplotter.com/2021/08/19/how-does-humidity-affect-powder/ bulletin.accurateshooter.com/2008/09/tech-tip-humidity-can-change-powder-burn-rates/ ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pzDHRwi3QVk.html

1/4 teaspoon of lemi shine & 1/4 teaspoon of dawn. Wet tumble 1.5 hrs on gas gun brass. 30 min. on bolt gun brass. Don't forget your brass in that solution for an extended period. Lemi shine ruins it by drawing the nickle out. It turns pink as is terribly soft.

I'm saving money.😊 .10 primer, .10 of powder and .11 bullet. .31 for 223 sp for prairie dogs. I do a couple thousand a year. It takes some time to trim 25% of the cases. Taking out crimps sucks. Resizing, priming, and reloading doesn't take long. If you figure your time is worth $30/ hr. You aren't saving money. Most of the steps I do in between watching your videos. Load development is fun, usually. Great hobby. Something to do besides sit on your butt in the evening. Then start talking about accuracy improvements.

I use a dry lube called TFL-50 and it works really well. No shoulder dents or stuck cases and it's easy to clean the die.

Any idea on when Ally will get in some 6mm ARC Varmint loads?

We at Munitions are being told late summer on our brass orders. As soon as we get it we will be going full bore and shouting it from the rooftops.

I have heard that reloading allows you to shoot more, and higher quality ammunition for “the same price” as buying quality factory ammo.

Watching primer first, while keeping book in mind. Keep an eye for ejector swipes.

When your loading your ammo that you sell are you using book oal like I’m trying to create a load that both my 6 creeds can shoot instead of loading to the lands on each rifle and having two different loads
@tphpodcast
@tphpodcast Год назад
Here's the easy part: Load to Mag Length/Book Length, don't worry about loading to the lands with more modern cartridges, they are much more jump tolerant. *Certain Berger Projectiles are less tolerant of jump*

@@tphpodcast Awesome Video, love the content you are pushing out. Question, did you ever get around to making a video on the Reloading process and sharing pictures of good and bad primer pressures? If not, I would be interested in seeing that process. Visual learner here lol. Thanks again!! Go MAGPUL! 🤣
