Exactly I am a Bollywood lover but this thing is really mean like these models work hard so much but later the bollywood actresses and actors take's all the limelight. In America most of the models r popular and successful because they get all the limelight that they actually deserve like gigi hadid, Taylor Hill, Kendall Jenner and many more
The reason India lacks in supermodels is bcoz the audience is OK to see Bollywood ppl on the runway. No matter how shady their walk is or even if they don't HV a personality.
Honestly most of us Indians don’t give a fuck either way. Covid + recent drug scandals have FINALLY shown at least some Indians that these actor/model types are just entertainers with no real worth. Most Indian models (in the Indian market too) are very plain. Go onto any high end Indian designer’s website and the models will be ugly. They’re only tall, that’s it! Now Bollywood is lazy and casts a lot of ex “models” directly from agencies since they’re willing to expose and sleep around. Hence most actresses today also have the same boyish tall bodies with very plain faces.
I mean .. do you need to have personality for modeling, I don't think so. Modeling is all about being a walking mannequin. To each their own i sincerely don't mean to downgrade models.
I've seen a lot of other models and Indian models are not that different, maybe it's the facial structure or the models are not anything like the conventional bollywood actors. There is no necessary to only have fair complexion for models, they're just gorgeous creatures
How can even they be appreciated Bollywood celebrities takes all the attention and overshadow the real models in fashion shows (specially lakme fashion show)because of there popularity.
@@ka_iii_a alright but it gets annoying cause a lot people keep asking it without context so...I hope you understand why it's annoying? I'm an army too
i hate how indians don't give respect to indian models because in india everyone needs fair skinned models snd intentionally indian models are praised so much...indians don't decline it's true and i have seen it many times... 😅
Non of indian discriminate against brown skin we have brown skinned actors and actresses here.Discriminated are the ones with dark skin like dark brown even those we can find them in here too
She is the only Indian model to walk the Victoria's Secret runway, Kelly Gale is ethnically Indian but her nationality is Swedish. Now that's on another level.
I'm so proud of all of 'em..... n Pooja mor was my junior in school,we were such good frnds back then.... so seeing her reaching the top makes me feelin so sooo proud 😍🥰
@@hansisadu9185 don’t get trigger it’s fact Indians are short And I was referring to average Ideal height There are tall Indians too but majority of Indians are short
I still remembered when Lakshmi Menon debuted at Hermes and Givenchy and fronted the Givenchy campaigns twice. As well as that memorable Hermes campaign. Riccardo Tisci loved her. That was heaven. Just love her allure and mysterious look. Wish she was everywhere during her time on the runways. Pooja Mor is also another stunner though she became infamous for her fall during her debut Givenchy show. One model I think who couldve made it in Paris and the major runways but didnt is Jyothsna chakravarthy. She debuted at the Chanel Bombay-Paris show but I guess that was a one time thing and she was selected by Karl Lagerfeld only for that. I mean she had the high fashion look, almost like a refined Indian version of Daphne Groeneveld. Maybe she didnt want to be on the major runways...who knows.
Can we talk about how ujjwala was a Tom Ford girl and was booked for Gucci and Ysl again and again, and then D&G and Victoria Secret and then again for viktor and rolf . I mean she was standing among the greatest supermodels of the world, She was standing alongside Gisele, Carmen, naomi, fernanda, raquel, And remember ujjwala at the Roberto Cavalli show in 2005 .
@@yuvraj6422 ujjwala was definitely fierce. I remembered her in the D&G campaign with yasmin warsame and jessica stam. Has she ever appeared in a Gucci or YSL ad campaign during Tom Ford’s tenure there? I can only vaguely remember Ai Tominaga being the only other Asian high fashion model in a major YSL and i believe Gucci perfume ad campaign during the early 2000s (Maybe Ling Tan did an ad campaign or so also for one of the houses under Tom Ford at that time but my memory doesnt seem to be too strong anymore). Hoping to see Ujjwala, Lakshmi, Pooja and some other Indian modela starring together in a major high fashion ad campaign someday, who knows right eventhough this is wishful thinking.
So stupid that though thede "WOKE" ppl preach Sm against society's illmorals, they THEMSELVES are colorist. PLS🖕 LOOK AT THESE BEAUTIFUL,HANDSOME,EXOTIC IF I MAY ADD AF MODELS. THEY'RE ACTUALLY BROWN THAT TOO.
Indians are great at catwalks IMO,the way they walk is obviously different to me,is it an indian thing in general walking or they all are just well learned about catwalk and have unique styles?
@buttercup baby Well, that's fine,I mean I talked about these models in this clip, and they were appealing to my eyes in both fashion styles, catwalks and faces and all. Generally you may be right, but it is wrong to say thoroughly indians are inappropriate for modeling!
They all look amazing but more or less very similar face shapes and skin tones, India is so much more diverse. They represent the Indian that EU standard see Indian as.
Ohh GODDD, HOW I agree with this comment! That is sooo true. As an Indian myself, I do not think these models represent the diversity of India very well. I understand that this is successfully breaking Indian “beauty standards” but WHERE are those people with big eyes, sharp features, yellowish skin, small eyes (the Northeast folks), thin lips, etc… It’s like most of these people are in a “Look like Kim Kardashian contest.” In all honesty, if all these people were in the same room (with Kim K in it), I wouldn’t be able to tell them apart. Although successfully violating Indian standards, they seem like stereotypical European models. There simply should be no standards!
Right! Indians can look like everyone every where. You would find all kind of features. However in real life Indian runway I see different kind of facial features at least
So true. I think the western world has stereotyped Indians as Browns who are obsessed with curries, and market that idea. In reality every state is so diverse and different from one another that we are a mini Europe of Asia.
@@red-oh7lb Well, I think Anwar was forced into modelling by his mum. Just like how Kendall was told to. aww! Thanks. So many compliments for those two magic symbols 1D🖤
Our country India doesn't give much support and appreciation to Indian models they only showcase celebrities atleast our models are having some work given in Foreign countries glad to see they deserve more recognition
Glad to find faces in glamour industry who are proud of their dark skin rather than covering it under tons of makeup These must be the real role models for every Indian girl
2:49 Ujjwala Raut is a professional model but yet in INTM they treat her like a third judge and Malaika Arora is given more value just because she did few item scores and has connections with Bollywood's influencial families. See guys that's how nepotism and Bollywood is destroying the professional industry.
Although I'm not an expert in modeling, Gurmit Kaur's walk looks uncomfortable for a viewer. The industry needs more Indian supermodels who will actually slay the runway.
This was something I've been waiting for ages, especially see through dress which i never thought would wear . I hope we change the prospect of fashion and bring revolution in this industry
I hope they get to be featured in more mainstream media like videos on Vogue. They deserve recognition instead of it going to the Instagram personalities
These are the women who should be represented on ads and magazines not just celebs and their kids . I'm tired of this. Give a proper chance to these talented newbies.
This video really good bcoz none of the models were like very fair or like sth extra. They had regular features and their hair also didn't look like so much ethereal. I think such videos of models should be promoted over bollywood celebs bcoz bollywood celebs wear a lot of make up and also their beauty seems like out of the world
And sadly india doesnot have a modelling industry all the models go on to become actresses and the real ones who truly come to this industry just to be models have to move abroad to earn the real value they deserve
I really want these models to come to India next supermodel to judge.I know that they will be a very good judge n lead new aspiring model to good path.I really don’t want to see fake models like Malika n Anusha to judge the show.
All of these women are gorgeous and have their own unique beauty, but I wish there were dark skinned Indian models and not only the fair skinned women. Presentation matters. Dark skinned women in India or world wide are not represented.
