Don't be a fan. Boosted stopped making their boards better a few years ago and the industry has moved on. There are similar boards available now for 1/2 or 1/3 the price.
I totally disagree, boosted stealth is absolutely badass. Way more torque than all the boards my friends have owned. I can’t afford a kalynyc board so I went with the stealth. Best purchase I’ve made in a few years
Seriously. What were they thinking with the price! Come on Boosted! It’s almost a 1/3 of the price of the Mini. For lights? It’s a safety accessory. Make it a reasonable price. I have 2 BBs. Over $400 for both. They should be $99 at the most. Please get some 50% off or BOGO discount codes out there if your worried about revenue.
$200?, really? You guys are really taking advantage of the people that buy your products. I’m one of them. I bought shred lights years ago and they’ve never let me down.
If you commute on this board, you buy these lights, and don't worry so much about the price. The other lighting solutions require you to pop 2 to 4 lights on and off to charge them. It gets to be a pain. I wish these lights were available a year ago. I have high hopes for these - make that tail light obnoxiously bright --- ordered
The other lighting solutions are brighter, and the charge lasts days AND doesn't use board battery. I'm loving that tail light with the brake light tho.
update: I just received the Boosted Beam lights - super bright - I highly recommend for the commuter. Brighter than Shredlights - more expensive, but for me, it is worth it
So what is the difference to ShredLights? Do they make use of the accessory port? Often enough My ShredLight have run out of power because I overestimated battery level
Carsten Schmidt both the brake light and the front light plug directly into the board via the port. They can be turned on and off via the remote. Customized via phone (the app). They have a micro USB port to charge the controller or your phone. The brake light gets brighter when you brake. They charge when you charge your board. They’re also 3x as bright.
Strider387 That is cool, thanks. Too bad that nothing of that is shown in the video. From my perspective - and this is more towards the creators of this clip - the video does not sell through information (i.e. there are none) neither through emotions (I only see some lights from the distance which could also be the ShredLights). But all these additional feature to some extend justify the premium price.
my boosted board is getting here thursday and i don’t plan on riding in the dark or anything but if i do end up riding in the dark more often than not i’m just gonna get so shredlights off amazon
They're fine for being seen I suppose, but you really need a high intensity light on your helmet to blast way ahead of you if you're riding over 10mph...
@ultradeadd www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071ZVLNZL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This is a great super bright inexpensive light that is rechargable and has lasted me for almost 2 years so far...
@@____________John_____________3 you say that but people will still buy these. They are arguably better, being powered by your board's battery as opposed to their own power source, albeit probably not worth the $200 price tag.
The boosted are definitely convenient when it comes to charging. I have a Boosted V2, Mini X , and One wheel. The shred lights are able to quickly swap in and out with their new design update.
Now they have updated the firmware and activated the accessory port I would guess there will be cheaper alternatives available soon from their parties.
There are quite a few benefits to these over the shred lights. Both the brake light and the front light plug directly into the board via the port. They can be turned on and off via the remote. Customized via phone (the app). They have a micro USB port to charge the controller or your phone. The brake light gets brighter when you brake. They charge when you charge your board. They’re also 3x as bright.
Strider387 its 600 lumens ONLY in the headlights, and with shred lights if i want to pick one up or have one on at a time or even have each one on a different light mode i can do that, the only disadvantage that shred lights have is they aren’t as bright in the front, but seem to be in the back. I feel like if shred lights had an app and were brighter boosted wouldn’t even be able to stand near them, not to mention they are half the price so i understand the different in brightness in the headlights. I like boosted i do ive always bought my boards from them in full but they aren’t worth the price and brands like wowgo, meepo, and backfire are steadily catching up and will soon surpass them no problem.
@@AlbatrossPictures Shedlight is 200lumens, the boosted 300lumens, and the rear is pretty weak with 50lumens and made in full plastics!! For this price come on boosted? full metal front and rear, the rear at 100lumens is the bare minimum? 50lumens in day light its very low.
Flawed World I appreciate the response, and I totally get where you’re coming from. I personally believe that for people who use their boards like cars, all day everyday, this is worth the price. It’s less about the lights themselves and more about the convenience, you don’t have to take them off, you can turn them on with the remote, you don’t have to charge separately, etc. For me, this is worth the price simply because I use my board like a car 24/7 and would like it to behave like one, I shouldn’t have to think about what’s keeping me visible and safe, you know? But to each their own. 😊
acidkhmer I get that, but it’s less about the lights themselves and more about convenience for me. I don’t want to have to think about what’s keeping me safe and visible. But to each their own. 😊
