Was on the lift Saturday (A-Basin) with a guy wearing these that had been testing them for a while and his response to the performance was "I can choose any binding but I choose to ride these". Apparently they're very comfortable, durable, easy to use, and don't sacrifice on the performance. Many comments have compared them to the older step-ins but this guy said they are vastly superior to the old models.

Mine arrive Nov 2 at my local ski/snow store. These are a totally different system to those other step-in systems. I also use Flow NX2 (Fusion) on my other board but have decided to switch to K2 Cinch TX - just seems a better system than Flow which always needs adjustment on the front rachet.

I just purchased these. I am an intermediate rider. I think these are FANTASTIC. I just have two issues with it: 1. I have wide feet and the toe cleat inside my foot feels like it's pinching a bit. It takes a while to get used to that feeling and at the beginning it hurts. I assume the more I break in the boots, the feeling will go away. 2. I am obese. Bending down is hard for me and it's the main reason why I purchased this set up. To top it off, I'm not very flexible. So to bend down and get out one foot out, I struggle as I can't bend sideways to get at it because my fat rolls are in the way. Even if I am on my knees, I'm kinda stuck as I can't get out because I can't pop out because I'm on my kneed and can pull off my foot. I only took one ride down a little sledding hill as I've yet to snowboard for the season. I'm gonna have to do that more until I figure out a way to get out that's fast.

I strap in standing up and it's no big deal for me, it's just a mindless ritual I've become accustomed to, but I'm still getting a pair of these. I mostly ride with skiers. They say they don't mind waiting on me, but I see the frustration in their eyes, haha. TBH what sold me on it was chatting with a shop owner who had 60+ days on a pair of the demos. He did have a custom liner in the boot, but the shell looked pretty damn good for so much wear.
@maxnguyen2875
@maxnguyen2875 6 лет назад
Liontaryist you’re gonna love them. I also did my bindings while standing 95% of the time. I think these are for intermediate and up as beginners have a tough time strapping in while sitting let alone standing up and applying pressure to their heels to click in. I got 4 days in my setup and love then after the initial learning curve to efficiently get in and out quickly.
@Liontaryist
@Liontaryist 6 лет назад
Max Nguyen I've got 3 days on mine now. I love them as well, but I might be a bit too aggressive with my riding because the toe hooks are getting chewed up at an alarming rate. My back foot already has more play in the toe area because of the rubbed off plastic. I just sent pics to Burton to see what they think. I hope this works out cuz I love the concept.

All good if your boots stay tight and are wel fitted.. Mine are nice and worn in now, i like them because they are so comfy and the bindings hold me in place. Dont want my boots so tight they squeeze the blood out my feet!

There were a couple companies out there. I had a pair of k2 with the highbacks. The boots had one strap like a binding without an accompanying toe strap and metal clips under the toe and heel. Honestly, aside from them icing up on cold days they were no different than kicking snow out of a normal pair. Hopping off the lift and stepping into the binding without ever stopping was the dopest thing about them. I only rode them one full season before needing something that I wasn't worried about popping out of off a drop. Although I never did pop out of them.
@sebastiandragonheart
@sebastiandragonheart 6 лет назад
I tried them. Sims made them, and they constantly got iced over on top of the mountain. Spent a few minutes before every run having to clear it out. For spring riding, they weren't so bad in that respect, but I still feel way better control with straps.

Break the Boa® & you're done. Carry a spare Boa®, or, at the very least, a trad lace that you can macgyver around the boot. Don't rest your board on your loose boot on the chairlift or you'll eventually fray, unravel, & break the Boa®.
@mushieslushie
@mushieslushie 6 лет назад
I've owned a few boa boots and had no problem. They have a full warranty and will give you replacement parts for free. Only issue I've ever had with then was them not staying tight because the ratchet in the boa was worn, but I replaced it and then they were fine.
@misterfunnybones
@misterfunnybones 6 лет назад
I've broken 5 Boa® laces in 7 years. If the Boa® breaks on the Burton system, then the foot is free; there's no option of tightening the binding to compensate for a broken lace. Carry a spare kit with the proper cable length or some traditional lace or zip ties for a quick fix.

I don't see the point in this...you'll save what...15 second strapping in?It's not worth the money no matter what the price is.Regular or rear entry bindings are enough.I doubt this is very reliable in the long run anyway.
