Hey Stan! There are two key hardware upgrades with the VERTIX 2S compared to the VERTIX 2, the first is our latest HR sensor technology which consumes and sacrifices some battery life (128 hours on VERTIX 2 and 118 on VERTIX 2S) for more accurate HR, which we think is well worth the trade-off with 118 hours still. The second is a redesigned satellite chipset to improve GPS accuracy for all modes. There are smaller additions as well like an updated screen (Same technology but better color contrast), along with more color options and nylon + silicone band shipping with each watch. They kept the mip but made it better in color, they got noticably better sensors in gps and heart rate. Plus this gets all their updates too with a ton of features

Hey Harly, the APEX 2 Pro (for the most part) will do most everything that the VERTIX line of watches has and is smaller if that is your preference!
