@@Lacotemale ...no. The only good thing about membrane keebs are that they're cheaper. Worse performance, worse lifespan, worse feel, way cheaper for the company to make and in exchange you recieve a cheaply made product, etc. Even for that budget you can get an okay mechanical keyboard that tops everything this might have going for it. Any gamer (which is the target audience of Corsair Keyboards) would place performance high on the list of necessities, and membrane keebs have significantly worse reponse time/input due to the nature of mechanical switches. All in all, for the price especially, it's not worth the announcement.

@@CID5202 I don't know about life span. I've had a Logitech membrane for over 10 years of gaming and it's still working perfectly. Just the WASD letters have worn off the keys but no big deal. My performance on that keyboard was brilliant and I didn't feel a delay. I kinda get why people like Mech but for me they are too over priced and have loud rattling keys which makes them seem cheaply made.

@@Lacotemale fair enough if you personally prefer membrane and have had no issue using them, but as far as statistically, mechanical is unequivocally better. There are esports pros who use inverted controls or arrow keys for wasd - whatever suits you works! I just think the value is definitely quite off when considering all factors (especially manufacturers cost)

@@CID5202 Don't get me wrong I'm still interested in trying Mech. I'm open minded about it. However to get a Mech that would make me happy seems a high cost and I might not even like it. Feels like a complete gamble.

Because instead of using your brain, you only listen what other tell you. Membrane means whisper quiet, reliable (no maintenance, never breaks/wears out), cheap. Not everyone needs to follow what the hype is about. Membrane scissor type keyboards in low profile format is trendy now (as it used to be back in mid/late 00s).

@@StrataVision Yeah I get the sound and price argument. But for me they just feel too mushy and aren’t really suitable for games where you need a lot of button inputs like in rhythm games.

@@2bnator I agree it's not suitable for fast key pressing. This mushy feeling also feels cheap, not sturdy, no good feedback on typing. Nevertheless I like it and use it for typing and games with slower pace. Even using the OG Logitech UltraX Premium or even older ps/2 ultraflat.
