i feel like this lens makes a lot of sense compared to the 24-50mm f2.8. i’d gladly take this over a third party option the day that I’m actually serious about buying a wide angle like this.

Do people who said they need a 2.8 lens to shoot in low light and in door actually know what they saying and a tally shoot at that aperture because as this promotion video shown, people still shoot it at f8 and fqq at low light and night when want to capture the architecture, do they at some point really using 2.8 or even 4 at all or just they thought their expensive 2.8 lens somehow impact the quality they can get even shoot at f8 and slower?

Wondering the same. I got the 14mm 1.8 GM from a girl I was dating and I always shot that lens at F8 or F11... Would be cool if they just produce a let's say 16-25mm F/5.6 or F/8 lens that's extremely small and lightweight.

@@dp_ion GM this will not be what I need at all, it will be heavy, expensive and useless for my purposes, but I need a 20-70 weighing less than 500 grams and a 2.8 hole only in the G series

@@rrs6509 28-75 tamron is ~550g. So 20-70 2.8 G lens with better build quality, longer range can not weighted around 500g. Must be 700g or heavier.

@@Krakenborn As for the assembly, I’m not sure that the Tamron is worse assembled, but the quality of the glass is a different matter, my friend, the usual 20-70f4 weighs 488 grams, from that they will make a 2.8 hole, I don’t think that this will add weight to it! But I’m not an engineer to say for sure I can not

@@rrs6509 they will be big different from f4 to f2.8, and the 2.8 version will aim for higher buyers for sure, just look at the 24-70 GM ii, it weighs ~ 700g. So longer focal length should begin from that. My guess is a 900g 20-70 2.8
