@@codydrift1863”If i were to make you choose, the lives of your men and crew or your own, why do i think they’d lose?” There isn’t a single bad line in thunder bringer. Zeus is pleased with how he is portrayed in this series Im sure lol. He knows he’s an arrogant asshole.
The way he taps his chest while singing "only I can undress her" and the facial expression when he sings "yield her" are fantastic and makes me wish for the staged version of this so much more!
@@elvenloki7340 Hey, performance nerd with a couple musicals under my belt here! Whilst you are correct that the near limitless possability of animation is a way of doing "so much more", I think the enginuity to convey such things on a stage is just as, if not more impressive. Having to create a perfect rendition that can convey all you need, WHILST fitting on stage / working in set, and yeilding to the limits to the mortal realm. Personally? I'd LOVE a musical theatre performance of this. Both are highly needed.
@@novahthemisfit6569I would pay so much to see Epic done live on stage. I missed my chance to see Hamilton (but the recorded version is good too). I can only dream that one day Epic gets picked up. It's certainly become popular enough
I like the fact that like Poseidon, they use thunder for the beat. Like how in ruthlessness they used the crashing of waves. But instead of showing that we’re in that domain, it’s more to show the power of this character: breaking over the storms sounds.
You’re right, he does say ‘distress’ in a nice way! Amazing performance from Luke Holt, and good job to everyone involved for putting all of this together!
Honestly, I can see why he has A LOT of children. Well he does force himself on the woman but with a voice like that. (Don't hate me ppl) But I would totally let him. It's wrong but damn that voice tho.
@@boiri have you heard the whole song yet? There's a lyric goes "sublime you for your act of crime" and I'm over here like, where do I sign up to be sublimed?
With his voice I can see why Hera would have been enamored in the beginning. Then the whole him tricking her into marrying him, but yeah Luke’s Zeus is great 😂
@@Dani-nl2idBy "What is this" do you mean Epic the Musical? Because if so there's a whole Act 1 out split between multiple albums already on Spotify & other places, the order is: Troy Saga, Cyclops Saga, Ocean Saga, Circe Saga, Underworld Saga.
Can you imagine having a voice like this that you could just whip out for daily use? Food at the drivethru, calling someone up, pillowtalk... This, this is power
Luke sounds so _✨godly✨_ here, especially the part where he goes" *Tell me, Odysseus* " is just so accurately Zeus-like to me, the way he majestically mocks Ody's title bcuz nothing tops being the King of the Gods and all that, to me it's just so~🌩️⚡✨ Can't wait to hear the full version of Thunderbringer in the Thunder Saga, thanks for making this mythological musical, Jorge & the EPIC team!~🙏🏽🌩️✨
He sounds like an extremely powerful and godly womanizer. But he's serious enough to fear while still sounding like a douche. It's exactly like Zeus. The comparison of pride to a damsel that only he can address and the serious threat he posted makes or so you don't like him but are still enamored
I love the image Luke's delivery of the lines paints in my mind. it at first sounds like Zeus is stalking above you, hidden by dense grey storm clouds, blinding flashes of lighting, and roaring thunder. you know he's near, but you can't do a thing about it, just having to wait until he appears. and then when the chorus hits, he descends down, his true godly power on full display as his thunder and lightning crashes with him. its so Fucking Good Man.
I’m loving the “tell me, Odysseus” at the end, because the way he says it kinda sounds like the way you’d talk to a kid, which adds to the condescending feeling of Zeus’ presence. I like it!
@NoraDoesThings No it's okay. The initial comment was that Zeus was talking to Ody like he was a little kid, so I changed the lyrics to make it sound like a maths question. I meant it as in many maths test tell you to answer in the simplest form.
omg. that voice. I am in love. That is amazing. He really is 'yeah I am an all powerful god. What do you intent to do about that?' He is so comfortable in the knowledge of his immense power.
This will probably get lost in the comments, but am I the only one that wants to hear a Phantom of the Opera remake with Luke as Eric (Phantom)? His voice is as angelic as it is powerful!
YESSS I'D LOVE THAT HONESTLY (he sounds a lot like Ben Lewis to me but honestly, the richness in the voices is what's prominent to me with luke jajsjsj)
Everyone is talking about Luke Holt and his amazing voice, and yes it’s amazing, but I’m gushing over how good these lyrics are. Like, damn, I don’t even need to know the context and I already love the play-on words here. Everything about it just screams Zeus. This is Jay at his finest.
@@RoseFoster19997 yeh mr “A vision of what is to come, what can’t be undone, can only be dealt with right here and now” And “A mission, to kill someone’s son, a foe who won’t run, unlike anyone you have faced before” And “I don’t think you’re ready.” And “This is none other than Troy’s very own Prince Hector. Know he will grow from a boy to an avenger. When you are weakened by age, and him consumed by rage, if you don’t kill him now there will be a price to pay. You can say goodbye to… Penelope. You can say goodbye to… Penelope.” And “He will burn your house and throne… he will find you wherever you go… the gods will let him know.” And “Silence. The blood is already on your hands, all you can choose is whose.” Or I think those are his lines That’s from memory
@@nisimabekasis6482 i completely agree. So many good songs yet to come. I really want the entire musical to come out tomorrow but alas we must be patient.
His voice is so powerful! It's the type of thing you'd hear in the back of a battle in the middle of a large thunderstorm, which is probably it what's happening. His shirt is so cool too! I love My Hero Academia, such a 10/10 anime!
This man's voice and the song made me tingle. Not in a sexual way but in the "This is so good I have to hear it again" type of way. I may find music I love but I rarely get the tingles, so good job!
The way he enunciates, especially "away" "distress", "pressure" and "confess", just scratches my brain SO GOOD, he's amazing The jam session version of this already had me obsessed but hearing it with the full orchestration made my hair stand on end in the best way, shivers!! ETA: and that "tell me~" aaaa
@crisssstoferrr9426 because she's not my only child lol. She's the youngest of all of my kids. 🤣 Sorry if the way I phrased it bothered you in some way.
That "Tell me..." was a PERFECT blend of arrogant, cocky, and amusement that really just encapsulates Zeus as a character. He's so powerful that this is all a game to him.
My favorite part for this is how into the character he got, the cocky smile as he sings certain lines feels so absolute. Like a god looking down on a mortal he's about to ruin the day of.
I had heard Jay's version so many times I was sure I'd be disappointed by Luke's. But their both amazing. Luke plays more into Zeus the arrogant, cruel sexual assaulter(not that I think that's who Luke is by anymeans. Great villians are usually played by great people). While Jay plays into the justice bringer aspect with the sadistic glee only coming out in the section when he is talking to Odysseus. I love both and will enjoy switching between listening to them.
And yet, I can see why he has the most children out of all the gods. That. Damn. Voice. And in one of the animatics I saw, whew. Yeah. I'd let him go months with me. :Ded:
@@BrokensoulRider well I would say he has the most children because he can’t keep it in his pants and doesn’t care much about the concept of consent but whatever you say
@@claracatlady9844 A lot of the stories about consent are just that: stories, and the vast majority is consensual. Some people just have all the charisma.
@@BrokensoulRider Greek mythology and the law say otherwise. Like Europa definitely didn’t agree to this yet here we are. Also there are always about under which circumstances someone’s consent wouldn’t count such as they are drunk, on drugs, mentally disabled, or there is a major power imbalance and not saying yes will come with negative repercussions for the victim like “if you say no I tell everyone that” or “I will send your nudes around etc. A power imbalance would be like teacher student for example. So seeing as Zeus is literally the ruler of the universe and has a bad habit of lashing out I don’t really think he takes no for an answer
@@claracatlady9844 Stop applying today's standards to back then, for starters. And then definitely stop applying the consent while inebriated. Drugs are a different issue, and why I will never do drugs. But I can be drunk and still have full understanding of what I'm doing and consenting to.
I’m so exited! I can’t wait. Ever since the first saga got released I’ve been in love with all the songs so far! The voice sounds amazing and so does the teasers for the new saga. Really good job on this one ^^
I've been drawing for 10 hours, the entire time this has been blasting in my ears, and I'm not stopping now, lmfao. I need to sleep it's 5 am :-: nah ill just continue listening to this 😅
Luke is the real incarnation of Zues❤! truely an amazing performance ❤❤ Epic cast being perfectionist as always, thank you so much for the incredible performances you gave and still keep giving us❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
