I'm sure other people have said it, but there ARE actually broadway actors in this one. Alex Brightman (Beetlejuice) - Fizzerolli Barrett Wilbert Weed (Heathers) - Octavia (OMGIWANTHERTOSINGSOOOOOBADLY!!!!!) Bryce Pinkham (A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder) - Stolas James Monroe Iglehart (Aladdin) - Asmodeus/Ozzy and Vortex Jonathan Freeman (Aladdin/The Little Mermaid) - Paimon/Cash Buckzo (sadly, he doesn't sing, so far, either) Georgina Leahy is also a singer (not broadway), but she plays Stella, and it's HIGHLY unlikely we're gonna get a song out of her.
Dagget from Angry Beavers, Zim from Invader Zim, Billy from the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Raz from Psychonauts, Kaos from Skylanders, Gray Matter from Ben 10, Alpha 5 from Power Rangers, he's everywhere.
For the song's Helluva boss also uses Broadway singers like Stolas, Fizz, and Ozzie (Ozzie, Vortex, and Zesteel share the same voice actor) I prefer Helluva boss's songs as it uses songs where it would make sense like on a stage or singing to a child, well Hazbin will use it for dialogue just like a musical.
While most of the cast in Hazbin is Broadway actors Helluva Boss has a more varied cast. But that said, Helluva Boss also employ Alex Brightman (Adam and Sir Pentius) and James Monroe Iglehart (Zestial). It also have some surprising voice actors, like the one in the Season 1 finale (part 2). Also, as others said, this pilot is NOT canon. Not even soft canon.
That and the "we can't afford a billboard, sir"and then in episode 1 we see a billboard in the background advertising I.M.P, and stolas's dirty talk while on the phone with Blitz. Loona's comments about Moxie's weight, and I can't think of anything else but I know that there's some more.
Other than the already mentioned stuff above, there are also a lot of smaller gags that refers back to the Pilot. In 1x4 there is a billboard with the medical staff from the pilot, in the same episode Blitzø asks the room if they got “that insurance thing”….and there’s the woman whose stroller(+baby) that Loona kicks that shows up again as a bg character…this time with a stroller full of booze. Blitzø stealing the grimoire, Loona being Blitzø’s adoptive daughter, and Blitzø habitually creeping on Moxxie and Millie are things that don’t come up again until a few episodes in, too. I don’t remember if they ever mention that I.M.P. is short for “Immediate Murder Professionals” again, but I feel like it’s safe to assume that that still is what it’s an acronym of.
All the things mentioned doesn't make the pilot canon, it just means they reintroduced and then canonized those things :P Vivziepop has stated herself that the pilot is non-canon. If anything they could be considered easter eggs for those that watched the pilot :D
Yeeeaaaaahhhhhhh, boys! You might possibly catch him up before June's episode comes out 😂 As much as I love almost all the songs from Helluva, there are like two or three from season 2 that just randomly pop into my head at any given time. I won't spoil it for Chris, but John knows what I mean by "camping Joe" 😁(John, it's not bronco... it's mustang 😂) And Chris, that *is* the voice of Daggett! Richard Horvitz. He plays Moxxie, and he played Daggett in Angry Beavers, Billy in Billy and Mandy, and Zim in Invader Zim, among other roles. He's a legend! For this month's episode... I say go for it! Watch it and enjoy yourself, then enjoy yourself again when you rewatch it with Chris!
Also yes, Moxxie is voiced by the same VA as Daggett from Angry Beavers. He also played the titular character in Invader Zim and Billy of Billy and Mandy! The incredible Richard Horvitz x)
Let’s see if you can hold out and watch it together😏 I still haven’t seen your reaction to season 2 episode 6 or 7! But I really like this reaction and think I’m really going to enjoy you watch this series together!
If I recall the one who wrote songs for Hazbin Hotel also wrote the songs for Helluva Boss, at least some of them. Sam Haft, genius. As for future episodes, if you speed thru all the episodes and post them Id be down for you to wait so you can react together fresh!
Well Bryce Pinkham (Stolas) and Alex Brightman (Fizz) are broadway actors too and I think.. maybe.. they have the most songs in the show?? (Unless Moxxie beats them, he has a few small ones after all.. but that's fine cus Richard is a broadway actor at heart)
Some quick info in case no one else has mentioned it: - Hazbin Hotel is more plot driven, whereas Helluva Boss is more character driven. - Both series exist in the same universe, however it is very highly unlikely (if not impossible) that the two shows will ever cross over officially. However, there are easter eggs in each show referencing the other. - The song/animation quality rapidly inproves as you progress. Keep an eye on the episode Truth Seekers for animation styles! (John you already know all this, but good notes to pass along so you're both up to speed!)
I believe it was stated that the pilot for Helluva Boss was not considered canon, unlike Hazbin Hotel's pilot. Edit: Also, have you seen episodes 6 and 7 of season 2 yet? If you have, they are not yet uploaded. Just wanted to make sure you didn't miss those in all the Hazbin Hotel fun you were having! They are fantastic episodes and definitely very much necessary to watch before episode 8 comes out. :)
The Helluva Boss pilot isn't canon And look, this is a reply that Viv made a few months ago in Twitter :) "I’m confused by that because the pilot is pretty obviously not functionally canon? Is that not obvious by them literally bringing a kid back to hell?? 😂 anyway it’s not canon. But it is still a fun pilot I’m so glad I made! ❤️ pilots are meant to be a foundation!"
@@acantthe well shoot i didnt realize this, (i dont use twitter) i thought it was, they literally still pull from it though, so its still good to watch. The kid being in hell theres nothing that says a human cant go to hell that hasnt died yet.
Yeah I was curious too. based on Johns Hells Bells reaction it seems like he has already seen and made reactions to episode 6 and 7 but just not uploaded them yet. Its strange.
Yeah I figure the bleeps are just comedy, given how often they *don't * bleep things, lol. (A small note, that's not generally the slur people are referring to when they say "the hard r" just in case you refer to it in another context and it's misinterpreted. Not that either term should be used in any context really, but examples like this show exist, so it's good to be aware. Here endeth the awkward overexplanation.) Enjoyed your reactions to this! It's fun when you have one reactor who knows a series and one new to it, then we get to watch the person who's seen it reacting to the newbie reacting to the show. Layers! :D Wish more reactors used this format. Looking forward to watching the rest with you both :) Also it only just clicked that that one of you already reacted to it solo not just in your own time, so I'm off to watch that now! For continuity I would say watch the new episode solo as part of that reaction set, and then react again together. It's not like this show suffers for rewatching, I always notice something new :)
Considering John only _just noticed_ the references to the _Hazbin Hotel_ pilot in this pilot episode, I think it's safe to assume he catches things on a rewatch too.
Him: That sounds like the dude from Angry Beavers... Me, a Horvitz fan: It IS the dude from Angry Beavers, and Invader Zim, The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, and Rachet & Clank, and, and, and-
s2 8th episode should come any day soon, because it's scheduled for this month,so Chris won't be able to catch up,you should react to it,BUT,the 9th episode is next month, and, considering it seems they're waiting for the very tail of the month end to drop these new episodes,I think you both we'll be able to react to it
10:44 you can see on the board titled "boss goals" beside Blitz's head are drawings of Katy killjoy, Carmella Carmine,(or possibly Lilith)rosy from the cannibal colony and ducky Lucifer! And when I first saw this scene (it was a clip and the audio was off, either it didn't have the audio or my volume was off idk) I honestly thought that the owl demon was either the other demon's boss or Wife and that she was threatening him with either indescribable pain or "a night of fiery demonic passion", which turns out in episode 1 stolas does describe their nights as "a Night of Passionate fornication" sooo it's not to far off the mark. Still can't believe I thought stolas was a female.
I wonder what song it is he wants so badly to hear again. I have a few ideas but I'm not sure. Also, pretty much everyone pointed that out already, but nope, the pilot is NOT canon x)
