I know I say this all the time, but it makes me so emotional to see it getting all this love. The city went through a terrible time for a while, & I used to long for it to get the support that it deserved for being such an amazing place, and not just what the media liked to portray. The way it had turned its fortunes around has been amazing to witness. Everything it is being celebrated for now, it has always had. There was always a feeling that things would get better for Napoli, and that it’s time would come because how could anyone not fall in love with it?! Looking back on when I used to pray for the city ….and seeing. It now ….all this positive attention it is getting is better late than never xx

Procida is definitely my favourite island, and Pompeii is eternally fascinating 💙 Please, please forgive me for saying this, but the region itself is spelled “Campania” “Campagna” means countryside….unless you meant the countryside, then ignore what I just said xx

Last year, my wife and I decided to kick off our Italian vacation starting in Napoli for three nights before heading to ischia and the amalfi coast. After having decided to go, I read a lot of comments online (eg it is dangerous, etc.) that made me question our decision. In the end, we couldn’t be happier that we stayed in naples. The city was electric (after Napoli won the coppa italia). We loved the Spanish quarter and spaccanapoli. The underground city was awesome. We visited Pompeii and the museum in naples. And of course the food was unbelievable. We also went on a wonderful street food walking tour. Was the city busy with scooters driving up and down the alleyways? Yes. Was there garbage in the streets? Yeah but the same can be said about NYC too and that city is amazing. Do you have to be mindful of pick pockets? Sure but you can say that about Rome, Paris, and Barcelona as well. There’s a ton of history, culture, and a great vibe in Napoli. Secondo me, Napoli e una citta incredibile! Ci piaceva quella citta. My advice… dovreste andare!

Verrrry excited about Naples Wise.. Will watch and rewatch as I do with Your RomeWise. Maybe in the future you’ll do a PalermoWise 😬 you are truly a gift. We have a 1200 year old lookout tower/ house in Minturno, but are not there as much as we’d like. At least til we move next year.
