Halfway around the world is 10,800 NM - allow 11,000 NM to go anywhere given straight paths runway to runway are not possible. Another 37.5% range will probably require another 45% fuel carry - so not worth it. Few business leaders fly NZ to London. Probably can't do max range at more than M0.8 average (236 m/s, 850 km/h, 460 kts) - it probably means 17.5 hours in the air. M0.94 is 540 kts, 1000 km/h, 278 m/s.

@@PtrkHrnk They are figure for above 10,000 metres where the air density is far less, but the air is a constant temperature. At this constant temperature, the speed of sound in air, Mach 1.0, is constant (295 m/s, 1062 km/h). At sea level the speed of sound is about 340 m/s (1224 km/h). Near sea level, with its high air density, most planes would be lucky to reach M0.5 (612 km/h, 170 m/s). Thus plane performance figures get quoted for where planes fly and the higher speeds achieved at that altitude.
