Hello Owen Z, Canon does not offer a product or system for recording 360-degree video. As part of the EOS VR system the RF-S3.9mm F3.5 STM Dual Fisheye lens with and EOS R7 camera are designed to capture stereoscopic 3D 180° VR imagery to a single image sensor. Generally, 360 ° cameras record an entire scene in all directions with multiple, overlapping fisheye lenses. Our system records what is in front of the camera for an immersive 180° view. The previously released RF5.2mm lens has a distance of 60mm from the center of the fish eye, which is not suitable for viewers with larger pupil distance.
Hello Lou. For Autofocus, a gear-type STM (focus motor) actuates both left and right lenses simultaneously to achieve autofocus similar to any regular RF Lens. Autofocus only operates in still photo mode, but is a great way to pre-focus before shooting video. The original 5.2mm Dual Fisheye lens is designed as a manual focus only lens and lacks the focusing motors to perform auto focus. it does not add another matrix to your camera. its prjecting 2 images on your matrix plain. so technicaly you got 4k video file which need to crop and process
@@CanonUSA This lens wasn't mentioned in the 1.5.0 R7 update notes released on 6/6/24..interesting. I do hope there is active work being done to add compatibility with the R10 and R50 since I was seriously considering selling my R7..
@@TheRealTonyCastillo R7 are way better than R10. I have 20 R10 in my classroom and 3 R7 and I can see the difference. R10 is an amazing starting camera though!
@@gerardobello1747 For sure there is a difference, just doesn't make sense to make a new lens that can only be used on 1 apsc body when there are 3 other camera bodies in the lineup, forcing people to upgrade to the R7 if they currently own one of the other apsc R bodies to use this new lens. I mean, It is Canon, they do some goofy stuff sometimes that don't make a bit of sense for the consumers....

@@adventureproductionz Imagine if regular cameras still cost over $2,000 and our phones didn't have cameras. Social media would be far less vibrant and engaging than it is today. The advent of phones with built-in cameras and video recording capabilities has revolutionized how consumers create and share content, making it incredibly easy and convenient. However, until VR cameras become significantly more affordable, we won't see a rapid increase in VR content on social media. The high cost is a major barrier, slowing down the widespread adoption of VR technology in everyday social media usage. Imo. 🤷♂️
There was a standalone VR180 camera they also demonstrated along with these two at CES. It's rumoured to be around $1000 USD. Hopefully they announce it soon but not getting my hopes up.
