I am currently subscribed for your genesis course. I agree with everything you said in this video. I personally hope you continue to cover genres that are less covered by others such as RTS and turn/grid based games.
IMO the biggest problem with Godot Genesis was that it was a broad range of games in both 2D and 3D. The price wasn't bad but the scope was a little ambitious for a single creator even with your experience. Structure-wise, I think it'd be fine if you split sections off into their own courses, as long as the original customers get access to them. Other creators have regretted going with Udemy, and I don't know all the behind-the-scenes details, but I'm quite un-surprised that you're putting your courses on your own website. As for me, I really wanted the 2D RTS section the most. I appreciate that you are working hard, but I am patiently looking forward to that particular result. Your RTS series on this channel is a pretty good start, but it leaves me hoping for a little more.
yeah i agree with the fact that its a broad range of games as well. The whole Udemy thing is also an issue, I wont go into details but yeah udemy isnt a great place for long term creators like myself... On a side note, I might work on RTS in the next 2 months or so, bcuz i know a lot of people are interested in that, but this is why im starting the membership, as people who are members can/will vote on what course/project I can create next and thatll end up taking priority. Additionally, doing this helps me create a more consistent stream of courses as well as hopefully keep the quality high.
