Introducing the Hairdryer to a Puppy. #13 

Here is a short video of Ruby being introduced to the hairdryer. She will need to be washed, clipped and dried throughout her life and so starting with a domestic hairdryer is a perfect way to start in terms of the noise and sensation. Conveniently, this hairdryer will blow cool air so I could lay it on the floor in this way as she settles next to it. Prior to the video clip, she was being fed chicken bits as it was running on the floor.
For those that have been following the Puppy Training Journey, this adds on nicely to video number 11, Puppy Grooming and Body Handling. We shall extend these sessions over time and begin to blow it directly onto her along with warmer air.
I do see a good number of dogs that cannot be easily groomed and the 'doodles and 'poos often fall into this category due to the type of coat they have. As always, early introductions are the way forward to avoid such problems.
