This kit is part four of a series of nine that I developed in collaboration with Erica Synths. In the video, I introduce the core concept - which is a focus on actually understanding the circuit you're building - and demo the finished module.

That reset trick with the SQ-1 to make the sequence seem longer is absolutely brilliant. Never come across that technique before!

Throughly enjoying these Moritz - just built the E.G. and another oscillator. The ‘play’ first is fantastic ! Your effort is so appreciated ! Ps noticed your comment re - filter - great !!

Sequencers really should have a default of 5 steps instead of 4, that one extra step opens up so many possibilities.

That's brilliant. 5 steps seems a bit short, I guess 8 steps is a minimum but the principles are still the same to build what is required.

Protip: solid core twisted pair CAT5 ethernet cable makes for excellent jumpercables on the cheap.

Okay built this one last night and it sounds great! When adjusting the trimpots in back I can’t get more than 4.6 volts coming out of the cv before the trimpot runs out of travel! The 2.5 is spot on! Any ideas? I’ve noticed both of the trimpots are identical on the back unlike some of the prototypes where the 5v trim is vertical?! Thanks again for these!
@MoritzKlein0

unfortunately i didn't take the reverse polarity protection schottky diodes into account when choosing the resistor values for the CV scaling. you can get it to be bang-on if you exchange R34 (51k) for a 62k resistor!
@iluvsa66
@iluvsa66 Год назад
@@MoritzKlein0 Moritz, you are a gentleman and a scholar I swapped the resistor out now and it landed on 5v exactly I didn’t even need to touch the trim! Thanks again for your expertise and troubleshooting!

Hei Moritz I really enjoy your videos but i have seen that you built your own reverb module and i would very much like to see how you went about that:)) grüsse aus der schweiz;)

Hello! I am trying to learn electronics and love the tutorials. Would you be open to the possibility of doing some very basic videos on how to know when to use certain components when designing? If not, what would be some good beginner tutorials to learn in parallel with these that I can learn how to understand when to use components and why. The explanations in these vids are very good and the analogies are helpful, but sometimes I am thinking "Man how do I just come up with something like this on my own?" you know?

In the manual it says to use two 9v blocks for the breadboard build. Can we use the dual power supply from the case instead as I do not have batteries around? The powersupply has 12V but I guess the ICs can handle 12 volt as the we be powered by it later anyway!? A bit afraid to try :D
@pabstkkx
@pabstkkx Год назад
For anyone else maybe having this issue: Just noticed in the manual of the other module "Since all circuits in this manual were designed for a 12 V power supply, we assume that to be the default. Everything will still work roughly the same with 9 V, though."

I have a question, if I don't have modules besides the sequencer, can I use the cv output of the arturia microfreak?

Maybe someone can help me here. I built it and it works great, only when i plug in a clock input the sequencer gets stuck on the step its on. Ive checked the soldering, all seems to work fine. Tried different setups for the clock out, none seemed to work. Would appreciate any insight anyone has on this issue.
@MoritzKlein0
@MoritzKlein0 2 года назад
where’s the clock signal coming from? the sequencer needs a fairly beefy (i.e. loud) clock

@@MoritzKlein0first of all thanks for taking the time, really appreciated i tried it with my microfreak, the arturia minibrute2s and my digitone. Nothing seems to work so far

I can't wait for this Erica synths colab to be over so normal content can continue. This feels like a "greatest hits" album where we get all the good circuits repeated and packaged into something you can buy

I agree, I love these but I don't buy modules. I want to build from scratch. And Moritz's videos are the best tutorials I've found. Hence why I joined his patreon. Still very good to watch and to read the build guides(extremely useful). I just miss the old videos.

Nobody needs a 5 step sequencer. Except maybe Sungazer.
