Congratulations to another great module! 🥳 I really love how the collaboration with Erica Synths have turned out and I hope that it will go on beyond the current line-up of 9 modules. I'm eagerly waiting for the VCF to be released 😉
you arent kidding man i almost teared up reading through the vco manual. he really nailed that shit. i modified the crap out of my old radio shack 500 in 1 learning lab and turned it into a synth breadboarding box complete with the dual power rails, and swapped some of the components out with 1/4" and 3.5mm jacks so i can just connect them with the springs. its like im 15 all over again.
Feeling like destroying a party but would really like to see more content beside the colaboration stuff. Missing the true DIY stuff the channel was growing with.
Hi I have built the VCO - works perfectly. And I have finished the VCA Kit. However my VCA does not work on either channel. The board and schematic list several test points, but I cannot find any mention anywhere of what or how to measure these test points. Is there any chance I can get some documentation on troubleshooting, or at least values to check in the test points???
I can’t wait to build all of the kits! Do you know when the eurorack case is planned to be released? I don’t have any other eurorack gear so I’m waiting until that comes out to actually build anything.
thank you Moritz, Ive got both the VCA and VCO on pre-order :) ..... one thing, could you perhaps do a video on eurorack protection... I see a little bit about it in the back of the manual but would love more info... e.g. how does the reverse polarity protection work? do we need to filter noise of eurorack bus? can we demo this on a bread board? what happens if we connect an output to an output? or an input to an input? also, I remember something posted by a module designer talking about impedance of outputs? whats this about? but once again, thank you for instigating this project... and providing great videos and documentation.. Im learning so much already, and look forward to more modules :)
Hello Moritz! Another great little introduction, I've pre-ordered this module as well and I'm sure I'll do the same for all the remaining ones too. When do you think that the eurorack case + PSU will become available? Also, maybe it's a bit early to ask, but do you think that we'll be able to purchase the complete book with all the guides and explanations on its own? I mean, as a stand-alone item, perhaps even in Erica's online shop?
Could you please make a tutorial on mixing and audio jacks? I'm puzzled how to make sure my diy synth doesn't destroy my other gear with over voltage or such. There are no good videos about this on RU-vid yet
Loving the look of these. unsure whether to just do the breadboard DIY series or just jump in at the deep end with these sets..! I want to support this sort of work for sure.
Thank you so much Moritz!!! Already pre ordered both of them!!! VCA and Vco! Thanks for the great work, I’m looking so forward to learn all this stuff!!! Hugs from Catalonia! 💖
Very cool! I'd love to see examples showing just the modules that have been released each week and how they can work together to build up to a more complex set of patches.
Hello, I purchased 2 VCO's, am planning to purchase 2 EG's, 2 S&H, 2 Filters (hoping you will publish HPF mod for one). Would I benefit from purchasing 2 VCA's or will just one do it since it is already dual? Same question with the wavefolder. I'm thinking I'll only need one of each of these modules plus a couple mults.
it‘s hard to say because it really depends on the types of patches you want to do in the end. if you‘re just going for subtractive monosynth voices, one dual VCA module should be enough. the wavefolder doubles as a sawtooth-triangle converter, just FIY. so if you want to get two triangle oscillations simultaneously, you might want to get two.
