Introducing the all-new Big Easy, our long-tail electric cargo bike you know and love - now with a redesigned frame, updated tech, more stability, and more possibilities by bike.
I've seen construction workers in Amsterdam casually carrying much larger ladders while riding around on normal bikes. But this looks nice. With one of these they could probably carry the ladder and eat a herring at the same time.
Looks like the creative wildcats at Surly drew on the past! Back in the 50's entire two story homes used to be disconnected, transported on a flat bed truck... and reconnected on another lot. ( no no- these were NOT mobile homes )... wow.... the big easy does make all those functions we see look easy! Bravo SURLY!
I own two Surly bikes. Well, sort of! Just ordered a Ghost Grappler frameset today that I’ll be building up(wish y’all didn’t have to discontinue that color and name👻). Anyway, I don’t have need of this bike but this video is fucking fanatic. Love the sunglasses drop near the end.
Compared to what? This is a steel frame bike with top of the line Bosch motor. If you want a cheap e cargo bike there are plenty of other options in the market.
What does this bike offer that Lectric or Rad doesn't? The name on the motor? Bosch is a good motor but I won't pay for a name. People are putting 10,000 miles on Lectric and they are still like new. For $3000-$4000 dollars what would I get that is so much better????
@@family77866different type of drivetrain. Some of it is the name but rad’s motor assist is calculated off of cadence and bosch’s is calculated off of torque, so Rad’s (in my experience) responds worse to hills and when I really need a boost.
Go for a Yuba Mundo EP8 instead. Significantly cheaper, comes with lights, and a whole bunch of accessories available that surly does not have. Also available in a non-electric version, which surly got rid of.
Why is a link to Surly not prominently displayed? Easy enough to exit RU-vid and locate the link but… Do yourself and your Sales team a favor and place the link in the description, or at the very least, the first comment.
@@quijadriss7650 You can still get the analog BD new for $2500. I have the 1st Gen BD with swoop frame and an E-hub up front. Pricing on these bikes is through the roof.
@@kikinikpics I guess I read several articles about this being the last run. I was just looking for some of them to post. Looks like they were more rumors than matter of fact. I guess that's where the root of my confusion came from.
Them: Get rid of your stupid petrol car, get a bicycle, it's cheap, good for your health and you can just keep it wherever you want! Also them: Dump producing a mechanical cargo bikes in favor of e-cargobikes that doesn't help your health, weight so much you can't carry it and fit nowhere so you need a garage, and costs like a simple car.
@@andarenbici All City is still exists. What are you complaining about? Surly has a large range of bikes. If you don't like an e cargo bike then move on!
Disappointing. Surly used to provide low-cost, practical bicycle frames for the non-poseurs. Now they want to build electric motorcycles and pretend they are actually bicycles.
Calm down - there's an entire line up of non electric bikes. Have you ever carried a heavy load on a bike? Its impractical if you want it for everyday use to not have an electric assist.
Happy to see them giving us another option. Be a competitor to some of the ridiculously low quality priced cargo bikes. The price is better than most of the other big name cargo bikes.
