Caterpillar Inc.'s new Compact Wheel Loader range packs a lot of features and technology into a small, nimble and highly productive machine. To find out all about it Peter Haddock visited its UK Desford facility to catch up with product expert Jas Kundra.
The next-generation includes a 906, 907, 980 & 980 high lift and there are many different features in this new UK built range which is also powered by the UK manufactured Cat C2.8 Stage V engine.
Jas: "A key characteristic of the Cat compact loader has always been its operating capacity. It can literally pick up a lot more than you think. And with the new design, we have brought some of the Cat DNA through to this range from our larger machines. So more technology and hydraulic capability have now arrived in this compact range.
"And the big news is that we have over 50 different kits to configure each machine to meet customer needs. So if you're a plant hirer wanting a fleet of machines, an owner operator, or a farmer, you now have more options than ever before. It also means that if you have different needs in the future, you can retrofit kits to the machine.
"Thanks to the new pressure compensated valve, there are also now more attachments available, and the new high reach is actually capable of lifting higher than its sister Cat 910 version, which makes it perfect for loading."
The facts speak for themselves:
