As many others have said, please bring back the previous style of map - it's much more difficult to see anything with the new maps and the ships and other features don't stand out well any more and are difficult tell apart ... and everyone knows the sea is blue! Did you do usability trials with a diverse range of users?
It is slower to use and the colour of vessel icons need to be restored to the previous version. Why you needed to change them when they were excellent. You paid someone a fortune to redsign the site when there was nothing wrong with the way it was. It did a good job!
It is horrible, please take the old chart and colors back. We use this divice to search for the ships we have to maintain but there aren't any roads on the chart anymore.... this is so bad, please bring the old one back :(
Absolutely hate the update. The website was really good and easy to use before, now it's fricking horrible. The new light/dark/satellite maps are the worst change ever. Never mend what is not broken. Bring back the old version, and i might consider paying for stuff again!
Their reply to me was that they created this based on the feedback they received over the past years. Who the hack gave them feedback that made them create rubbish like this???
The update is good, HOWEVER, please make the cargo vessels Icons more visible/ brighter. It is nearly impossible to see the vessel outlines on the map when using satellite display. This is a huge hinderance to the experience and is not color blind friendly. The previous color of green was perfect, please test features using satellite overlay as well.
La carte jaune et bleue était bien plus lisible et agréable à utiliser. Les anciennes icônes des bateaux étaient plus visibles. Je souhaite un retour à l'ancienne version.
I track on my laptop, not on a mobile device, so there may be a difference in quality, but as far as laptop visibility of the icons, this new application SUCKS. The cargo ships are a pale, pale green and are hard to differentiate from tug/tow boats. The previously vibrant red tankers are now a pale shade of pink. The land masses are blue but the water is white. Now why would you make land blue rather than green? All in all, it's awful, and who ever designed the colorway should be fired.
Enhanced experience I don’t think so, apart from being unkind on your eyes, the icons are terrible now and as others have stated why is the sea white? Absolutely dreadful update, if you read these comments have the common sense to revert back to the old maps please.
I do not like the new vessel icons. With the old one, I could easily see at first sight if it is a big tanker or a small tanker without clicking on it. I still can see a very small difference between big vessels and small vessels, but is very hard to recognize. Is it possible to change back at least the icons for the vessels?
Be patient,users. Greed has overcome our user experience. Maybe a week or two and someone will start up a new marine traffic website, and it will look much like the old one...patience
Why change things when everything works well on the previous maps, the new maps are hopeless, I do use a computer desktop, but I have to revert to my phone to get a better coverage with bigger icons and better map.
With this new update, I've lost the zoom in/out functions on both my company laptop and my personal chromebook. Didn't MT try the software before they released it? Maybe its a marketing ploy to force users to purchase the professional version...
Who the **** redesigned this. It's terrible!!! The old version WORKED (very well) so why change it? As for the ship icon colours they are disgusting. Bring back the original bright colours and the choice of icon design. I think I might well stop using MarineTraffic unless they take notice of all the comments and put thing right.
I've been using the new facelift all day now (I track tankers for a living) and must say it's a lot faster now. No more lengthy loads when I have to run a playback of an entire fleet of several hundred tankers. Would be great if the AIS Playback feature could include some vessel feature options, so I can only look at tanker activity for instance. All the other vessel types tend to get in the way at times.
Warum muss immer alles verschlimmbessert werden? Einfach nur unübersichtlich die Icons der Schiffe. Eine Unterscheidung ist kaum noch möglich. Das Foto des Schiffes ist beim ersten Anklicken auch nicht mehr zu sehen. Einfach nur schrecklich. Bitte wieder mehr von der alten Ansicht wieder einbringen!
Go to the nearest nursery shool for under fives. Give out a large box of SMARTIES and ask the 5 year olds to re-design your ships icons.. They will do a much better job than the expensive idiots you have paid to wreck a previously excellent site. Then go to court and charge the criminals you have paid, to get your money back. Just because you have paid them, does not mean you have to accept their poor quality workmanship.
Lose the boundary line(s), or at least diminish it/them to background level. They're way too "bright" and distract from actual traffic along major international river & lake routes.
Please back to the old map!!! The support of MT says to me that the details are not changed. But the old map had the option "Standard" or "Simple". With Standard I could see al the streetnames. In the new map the street are even not drawed! MT says to me, the old map had also not streetnames. See this video and conclude, streetnames or not???
