I feel like this tutorial was a double header. First we have a great introduction to the TK Gen Fill panel. Second we have extremely help tips on using Gen Fill. You knocked these topics out of the park. Multiple home runs. Thanks Dave!!!
Just when I thought things couldn't get better since getting the TK9 panel. Thanks again Dave for introducing this new panel. You are arguably one of my favourite RU-vidrs for the way you present your topics.
Really good news, Dave (and Tony)! I don't use PS Beta, but I can't wait for the regular PS to have Generative fill capabilities, at which time I will download this new application of course! Thank you.
Wow. This is so fantastic. I love all the new features of the TK9 panel and adding this in is just amazing. Thank you and Tony for coming up with it and for such a great explanation.
Great video, Dave, on a cool new panel. Initially, I didn't realize that the percentages represent how much Photoshop is adding (blending in) to the image. Now it makes sense! I do find that my choices can be very different on different images. Sometimes my choices are lower percentages, sometimes higher. And of course what we ask Photoshop to generate makes a huge difference. Thanks!
Another great example of your collaborative work with TK Dave. Always moving forward. Would love to see how you would tackle a portrait to painting 👍👍👍
Thank you Dave. Added this to the other tk9 stuff I got and haven't installed yet. I had tired the painting thing with Gen AI a while ago and didn't think it was worth it. What you show here with the percentage buttons, the 1024 px trick and how you use the prompt made for some very nice results. Thanks for taking the time to share. - Tim
Hi Dave, first of all thanks to Tony for this great panel and of course to you who once again explained it excellently! To be honest, I don't really need Generative AI at all, but it's so much fun to experiment with, that a lot more time goes into it than I actually thought. It is what it is. It is just "The Joy of Editing" 😀
Thank you Dave for this great info. I am using the beta-version every day and the gen-fill is the only reason. I create works starting sometimes in Midjourney and creating afterwards in higher resolution (Gigapixel AI is the must have here) and for additional stuff on my work gen-fill is the best beside stockfotos.
This is not working out for me. I have installed plug in for this panel in Photoshop. When i click on one of the numbers indicated on the panel, it automatically creates new layer consisting of a (prearranged) Quick Mask color across whole of the image. I don't know how to disable this action. There is no selection indicator around the panel either when I click on one of the numbers. Also, when I intersect this situation with lasso tool it generates the picture across whole of the image and NOT within the lasso selection. Can someone advise on the fix?
I have a question, I got this today and think I will really like it, but when I generate just like you are here say at 50% my pictures are really abstract to say the least I can barely make out what they are, I have been going down to 25% or less to get just about any kind of decent picture. They don’t look near as good as yours and I am following your videos step by step.
When you use higher values it is important to describe the image in the prompt for the best results. Lower percentages will stay more true to the image.
Dave, thank you for your help. I have tried at least 20 times today and the "Free Checkout" only blurs. It is not going to spam. I've downloaded other things today with no problem, as well as paid a couple of bills. Don't worry about it. I've give up. It is not worth anymore of my time and I am not going to get frustrated with this. I will not try again. I appreciate your effort and enjoy your channel. I don't use the TK panels because I have been using PS for too many years to change the way I do things. I think his panels would slow me down.@@thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly
Panel seems to work well until you try to do a Generative Fill. Adobe comes back with a notice that you have violated the usage provisions of Gen Fill. Tried unsuccessfully to work around this but failed. PS Beta's Gen Fill works just fine on the same image. Hmmmm.
What were you using the Gen fill for when you got the message? It is common to get that message every now and again. If you are trying to remove something without a prompt, try typing a . (period) and generate the prompt again.
I was attempting to use the Gen Fill as a Replace tool. So nothing was entered in the Prompt box. I was expecting that it would fill with a combination of existing information. T@@thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly
If you scroll to the bottom of the page you will find the two check boxes. They're right above Add to the cart. I verified they are there and can be checked on.
Interesting to see and know, but as a photographer of reality (architecture, landscape, birds) I could care less about made up AI images. Thanks for the show so I see what I do not need or care about. When I get to play with extending canvas, for say, missing areas on the side, or framing, I might be interested. This? Nope. Thanks for showing us.
The panel is cool, the video is awesome. However, these things are not turning my photograph into art. I see this comment in ads for photo manipulation software all the time. The implication is that a photograph is not art. Photographs are already a piece of art.
