Shoutout to Maxwell Deming for the idea. I guess if you can't get any PE foam... Do this + the tape mod!

now you can open your keyboard whenever you are out of toilet paper :D joke aside, this doesnt affect much with pe foam but it's still safer for solder pc pe foam when they get melted can actually damage your pcb just dont burn toilet paper, lol

Lol I wasn't the only one to try out this idea. I didn't necessarily do that for between the switch and PCB but rather underneath the PCB, mainly cause I am using the Keychron Q1 and I have tried the force break mod and the sound dampener, was fine with it but the thickness of the dampening foam kind of took away the purpose of gasket foams so I just used toilet paper to put them between the PCB and the bottom alu body. Sounds much louder than before, but def something that I was looking for. 10/10.

It works for me on my akko mod008 i put 3 layer on it work fine sound nice but still like pe foam

Hmm, toilet paper is definitely too soft. Try oil absorb paper for food could be nicer than "toilet" paper

Painters tape or masking tape is used on the back of the pcb, not the front, which is where the PE foam is used, or in this video, the toilet paper. If you meant to put painter's tape on the front of the pcb, it will probably be too thick for the switches to come through unless you poked holes on them already.
