Question regarding AES256: In many Chinese radios the IV (initialization vector) for AES encrypted traffic is not randomized, but a fixed value. Does the new TYT md-uv390 Plus new hardware encryption for AES256 use a fixed or randomized initialization vector?

Exceptionally great video from us here in Nigeria!!, Can you help clarify….what exactly does the encryption do in this radio? Does it encrypt only the settings or does it also encrypt voice communication?

So I was able to take my MD-UV390G, non "Plus' and program it with CPS 2.34 and add the AES256 keys. I have been unable to test it to ensure the AES is working property but a standard non-encrypted DMR radio is unable to decrypt the signal. You also talked about how you got the various encryptions, Basic/Enhanced, worked with Motorola radios. I have been unable to make that work. Would you be able to elaborate on that for radio fleets that are combined TYT and Motorola?

Can you flash OpenGD77 firmware on it? Is the GPS sensitivity improved over the older models? i.e., does it work inside, does it still require a cold GPS start every time radio turns on.

How many digital contacts can be loaded into the radio for Amateur use?

If the 10W version lacks the GPS does that mean you can't use the satellite feature of OpenGD77?

my tyt uv390 plus didnt last 5 weeks. 30 day return window ran out, not im playing the waiting game hoping it makes it back from china. if not, im out of $115

When scanning a group of analog channels in a particular zone, if a DMR talkgroup in another zone becomes active, the radio switches to the DMR talkgroup and stops scanning to analog channel group. How can this be prevented?

It’s IP67 until you open that accessory port. Defeats the IP rating.

That programming ui is, pretty bad. They should go Bluetooth route for programming like some other models
