INTRODUCING THE UPGRADED CAMBRIDGE AUDIO AZUR 540P PHONO PRE-AMP 

I did this recently to an old 540P that's been sitting in my shed for over 15 years. I didn't go mad on electrolytics jusy used a mix of nice Panasonic and Nichicons. Film capacitors were Mundorf Mcap MKPs, IC sockets were fitted and a few various op-amps were rolled, nothing too fancy, I think I finished up with Burr Browns in there. As the enclosure was damaged and badly marked, i put the PCB in a small Modushop Galaxy 1U case so now it sounds superb and looks good too. Thanks for posting.

Try some Op Amp modules from the likes of Burson Audio, you won't be disappointed.

Most audio is made down to a price and your bringing them up to a standard with much better quality parts 😁💯

You would gain a lot more by upgrading the rectification and decoupling the psu.

Would you have got that from Cash Converters? A friend of mine got a Cambridge amp from there for £30 at HW I was going to go and have a look myself. There seem to be a lot of this Cambridge Audio about second hand why? so which model of phono stage should I look at then which is the better one? What was the original capacitors there the big white ones why did you go with Jensen you put on?
