gabríela raised a good point here. the best songs that i make friends with the most aren't so much the ones that cut me like that , but the ones that grow in me like *this.* (after more than one listen) . they stay with me for so much longer because they had to grow in me for me to befriend them (because the good songs, the ones that cut me so and others like this one that grow *are* my friends. they nurture me) . 🧿

It's remarkable how her music can resonate with people of all ages, proving that great art is truly timeless. Björk's work remains a testament to her fearless creativity and unwavering commitment to pushing the envelope. 🤍

I've admired Grabríela since I discovered your music, back when I was a teenager. I used to redraw and take a lot of inspiration for my art in gabríela's illustrations, specially her black and white works reminiscent of family tree 🥰

I thought it was very interesting that she said the dual color orange must come out at the same time she is expressing blue. And, the choice that women make to take on a victimhood that no one asked of them, is some food for thought that I'll need to take some time to digest. 💜

Today is Birthday & I am watching this video before lunch with family. I am a big Björk fan, basically when I left the Hawaiian island as a little boy my friends gave me The Post album in a saffron orange colored jewel cd case, then I moved into the U.S. mainland. Björks work was then always in the rotation of my teenage years going through Chicago & it was somehow a connector to island . So she always made nice shields & wares, moving through. Well this song is so beautiful now I’m old af; but I was in battle in life over 2019-2022; & then this song really gave me a bridge through. Thank you. Btw I am definitely not a victim. Nemesis’s of Rhamnous has become a friend too, over the years 😘

Gorgeous. So beautofu; to hear the artists sources, feelings and routes for ideas. Especially with collaboration, what a gift.

It's always interesting to hear artists describe the meaning in their work after first letting ones own mind interpret it. Definitely many things went over my head before listening to this, but the base/message stayed true. One little note, is that the very end to me seemed as if the spirit/creature starting anew went back to something familiar and comfortable which I interpreted as a little club where the spirit was DJing, as the flashing of the creatures behind the spirit, the light on the face, the positions of the hands and just the nature of the little cocoon amidst the sea, reminded me of a little intimate club with the DJ doing her/his thing.

I really love this candid conversation, thank you! Really deepened my appreciation for the video and was fun to listen to you two chat. Would love more of these :)

had it not been for the advent of RU-vid and its popularity in the late-00s and early 2010's, i, and literally every other musical person on the planet, would not have even found genre's of music including artists like you, Bjork, and other not-mainstream people. Your music existed when i was just a baby in the hill country that only knew that country music existed because of my family and its exposure to the world. It wasnt untill i was 10 that we moved to the City and i found out that "the world" had so much more to offer than Garth Brooks. I fell in love, i found a gun, and we moved back to a more rural part of Texas with a llittle more attitude, and a much more receptive and vigilant heart and mind. It wasnt untill i had a stroke when i was 25 in 2010 and was diagnosed with schizophrenia in the ensuing months, and was moved into a boarding home for my poor mental state. At this time, i was "offered" daily group therapy from 8-4 oclock every day covering every area of mental health imaginable. After about 5 years i started making progress and was allowed to move out into shared housing, graduated from therapy, moved out on my own and eventually got my own apartment. During the eight years (about 2000 days of therapy coupled with medication and psychiatrist appointments) I found youtube. I instantly compared the accessibility of the worlds cultures, and not to mention, music to that of my teen years when i first fell in love with music, and literally the only way to find music that wasnt on the radio was by a friend giving you a stack of old cds full of random artists. This had happened many times my brother was always giving me random cds, and so were friends. And who you listend to, stood for something back then. Your persona was identified by the artists you listened to, and who you could get to listen to with you. Bands simply were bigger deals back then. But with the invention and domination of youtube, its like a magic portal, where you can simultaneously see back in time, as well as travel the globe. To era's where bjork and and portishead dominated the urban underground of the UK in the 90's; when music for young aspiring wiccans in small town USA only had access to certain genre's and their circles. This is an iceberg im not trying to uncover but only show light on. I love you bjork, you helped me through my hardest years.. I own all of your cd's. 🥰 But i couldnt say that without including an entire conversation about youtube and what it has done for freaky hippie guru's like myself. ☮🕊

The Icelandic accent is very fun and soothing to listen to. Congratulations on the beautiful artwork, and the very relatable music. I’ve had the odd self-pitying morning, only to be jostled out of the fog by the demands of life. It’s funny how isolation especially can intensify negative emotions. That’s why community and social interaction is so important. Even for an introvert like me.

Woooow ok. So many I would like to comment. I wish gabrila could see my critic. And I could have a talk with her directly. The only thing I would like to mention is about is the pheotus part. Thats so interesting. I would have first see it like a childhood trauma reference. Like some people are still stuck somehow somewhere in this childhood mind set at some point. But when you start to do the work.....at some point on all these shadow work. Its true that it kinda began to be a rebirth..... Youre voice touch me so much.
